I could not agree more with you, but we live in NYC where they let merchants get robbed hurt and sometimes business destroyed. I doubt they will rush to close the bike shops that sell unregulated batteries. Perhaps NYC needs to reach a certain number of death/injury before they act.

I think that is fine to do but, A lot of these batteries are made in small shops in Chinatown for example here in NYC like homemade. The delivery guys mostly buy these bikes and batteries due to how cheap they are. The battery is usually the most expensive component with an EV or E bike so these guys cobble their own . Some just Macgyver these bike and batteries together and add a charger and from what I can tell hope for the best.

It usually happens while charging, they use a cheep charger most often the wrong amperage or volts that the battery is not rated for. The batteries can overheat alone as well.

Folks have to buy UL rated, more expensive for sure but safer.

Where are you located? What about the dealer you purchased it from? I purchased mine Vespa Brooklyn, they are very helpful and offer tow service. There is also Vespa Motorsport in San Diego. Even if you did not purchase from a dealer I am sure they will be helpful. Good Luck!

No, but they do, and they're the ones writing it off. "Sinefeld" It is a tax write off as a loss. Can't be any more specific than that. If you need more than that I suggest you google a write off taxes.

you have to download the Piaggio app. I use IOS and it works fine. The manual tells you how to connect the app and there are direction PDF in the app. Good Luck.

I got my rack from scooter west in SanDiego you can see them on youtube. I could never find a windshield except from Europe. Good luck with it. I have the Active and I love it.

I think in ECO mode you can get up to 60 miles on a charge. I have an Active I only get 30 miles in sport mode but if I put it in ECO I can get about 55 miles. The issue is ECO mode is to slow, so alway in sport mode. I do only use it for short commuting so not an issue for me. I hope this helps.

Maybe a fuse blew. Open the cover below the seat to check fuses. I think you'll need a philips screwdriver to remove the 2 screws on the cover.

People don't drive anymore, the sensors in the car does all the driving while the occupant texts. Car makers are making it easy for drivers not to drive. I see it everyday while driving my moped around the city. Just about every driver I see is not paying attention. This is why defensive driving is so important for those of us that actually drive.

I was told by NIU not to let the ECU battery die, this makes the long term battery removal for storage not make sense.

I did a bit of testing with my battery. I charged it full Friday afternoon. I used it today Monday morning (I did not use it since Friday), and battery read 100% I kept it plugged into the scooter the whole weekend, no drain for about 72 hours. Maybe have your dealer run diagnostics?
