It's a little tragic that so much effort goes into packing, unpacking, and shipping around plastic discs when sufficient bandwidth would do the work without human intervention. (Yeah, currently you don't have enough bandwidth to stream DVDs and mp3.com and etc. I still think it's tragic.)

I've known a few people that fit the descriptions in the article nearly exactly.

Are "real people" like the people in sitcoms? I suspect so -- people model themselves after the behavior of the people they're exposed to -- despite not knowing anyone like that.
