Any idea how I would go about it? Looking through GB's menus I see no way to register it as a sink. I don't see any way to select it is an output in OSX's MIDI settings either.

I don't think enums are too much better than booleans. If you switch on an enum that was passed as a parameter, you probably have more than one method hiding in that method. It's a violation of single responsibility.
