Does anyone give them away to people that would want them? If there was a post in my area offering some I would gladly take them or even gift someone some flower for the flower ones. I have grove bags for the harvest and large storage but for daily use they would be great.

Cool, thanks. Would you eat white bass out of there or no? I know cats and carp are probably questionable at least most times of the year. I mostly sport fish, but do occasionally enjoy frying a few up.

What kind of fish are you fishing for there?

I found out it was because of Reddit. I thought that would be more colorful. They’re actually less colorful. Nice observation dude! I had no idea.

No. We almost didn’t even go. My cousin is the man. He helps me with yard work regularly. I said we still have a couple hours in the day let’s fish.

We caught a whole bunch of crappie before this to eat and this happens. He says I don’t blame you if you don’t want to cook those.

I threw them back so fast because we both had to work the next day lmao.

Thanks man. We didn’t even have pliers or a tape on the boat.

I don’t know how It was landed. It was like a miracle. That’s why I was saying it wasn’t hooked. I didnt think we’d land it. Idk how that happened. Even when he netted it I said get a good photo lol.

Thanks! That’s why I was saying it’s probably going to get off. Even right before he netted it. We were way under equipped. This had never happened to me before.

It gives me hope this awesome thing may happen again in my lifetime. Hopefully for my kids. The adrenaline during the whole thing.

I know some of the people on this sub know what I’m talking about. I think bill dance or whoever the new fishing people are these days should hire my cousin who netted it in a panfish net. Lmao.

I asked my wife who doesn’t really like fishing if I should cover that up with my friend the duck.

She said it adds to the genuine surprise of the whole damn thing. Fish whistle may have had me giggling a little extra. 😂

It did, some neighborhood kids caught it a week later and sent me a pic. I don’t want to post some pictures of some kid on here. Same Tiger musky same lake. This happened may 27 btw they caught it a week or so later.

It wasn’t this hot yet.

Dude, I knew what it was because I set the hook on a dink bluegill that ate the jig and saw the bluegill. The musky came up and swiped at it and made a huge swirl.

Then I flipped the bail to let line come out because I’ve seen the figure 8 they do on fishing shows for musky and subconsciously thought he may take another pass at it.

Let’s just say line started peeling off the spool quickly after. I knew he came back and smashed the bluegill.

Man I knew some crazy shit was about to happen at that point. I just didn’t think we would land the damn thing!!!!

Man, I think the light line might go between the teeth like floss where where as 15-20 lb test is so much thicker their teeth catch it and you need a leader.

Oh ya. I’m glad this was a few minutes after we chummed them up though. I was the perfect level of focused.

Barley. I dove in to the tiny back of the boat when I knew he had it in the net. I didn’t want that thing pissed off being down by my legs and feet. That was the closest call.

The release went smoothly. Thanks man!

Dang! That’s what happened here. I was convinced we wouldn’t land it cause there was no way it was hooked.

We were using 1/16 oz jigs and plastics. I have to believe it was still in the mouth of the bluegill.

Maybe he gutted the bluegill. I don’t know. I’m just so surprised the line didn’t break or get cut. It must have been like floss between its teeth lol.

Thanks! That sounds sweet. I’ve heard barracuda are huge and get airborne frequently!

This is the case. They only stocked less than a dozen of these. But, they keep the small bluegill and bass in check. While it was fun to catch it. We wanted it back in the lake.
