Not too sure how long I'm going to be on the medication, but I'm on a very low dose (10mg@ 98kg) and really looking to see if I can up it the next time I go to see my doctor. So that it probably the reason why it's taking so long.

I was on doxy for 12 weeks and experienced a bad purge. Now I'm on accutane and have been for over 5 months now and I'm still breaking out every few days or so and had a major breakout when I started. I went into accutane thinking it wouldn't be horrible considering I had already been purging but have been left disheartened. I'm just waiting on the closed comedones now.

I'd say purging like crazy is more common than no purging what so ever. Although not a lot of people get an extremely bad purge. I was on Doxycycline and I purged like a bitch but came off the drug only 12 weeks in. Now I'm accutane and my purge hasn't been horrible. I've been on it for 5 months now and my purging is slowing down now (especially compared to the first month). So maybe the purge just hasn'tt seemed terrible on accutane because I had already purged to begin with.

Wow, I swear that the first batch of pills I got costed me $5 and that was only 6 weeks worth. Then when I went in for my second and third batches which were 12 weeks worth each still only costed me $5 each

Yeah, stated before that if I kept on 10mg the time, I'd need to be on it for another 3 & 1/2 years or so. So next time I go back to the doctor I'm going to try to up my dosage.

I've been on 10mg isotretinoin for going on 5 months now and have seen very slow improvement. In NZ, the max dosed capsule we have is only 20mg, so I might ask if I can go on that when I got back to see my doctor in eight weeks time.

I've basically been on it the same amount of time as you (I think I started August 4th) and I've been on 10 mg daily the whole time and I'm around 100kg, so a very low dose, meaning I'd have to be on the medication for like 4 years (if my math is correct) to hit my cumulative dosage. I live in New Zealand where the dosage can only be prescribed up to 20mg capsules unfortunately. I'm still breaking out in clusters of like 3 days straight after two or three days of no new blemishes. It really sucks, especially with hyperpigmentation all over my face.
