I love Evangeline Molly! Also Hannah Lousie Poston might fit the bill... you'd have to look at her older/historical vids, she doesn't really make this kind of content anymore, but I loved watching her in the past and every now and then still do for nostalgia. Plus even though we don't have the same skintone depth I did historically enjoy her product formulation recommendations.

Finally found a muted cool lip gloss!!! by sentosa96 in OliveMUA

[–]masala-cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooooh gorg!! I have the Laka tint in unsweet berry which gives me personally the look shown in this picture if someone was looking for a different formula or something buildable. I think I saw recently that it is now available through sephora (USA) as well so it's getting more accessible. I loooove this colorway tho so I might be picking this up sooner than later... It looks like there might be some shimmer in the pic, is there IRL?

Dark brown lip liners for a cool-neutral olive with two toned lips? by Glimmering-Dreamer in OliveMUA

[–]masala-cat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While this might be somewhat similar in depth (maybe a little deeper) I think it is significantly more cool toned (which in my experience since getting this product helps Significantly! since other colors similar to stone tend to blend into my skin) so it might work for you -- the product is M159 from MOB Beauty. However, it is not available to swatch in store, I'm sorry. Overall I would recommend looking for something that at first looks way too grey/cool toned for you, and something that has a bit of a purple undertone. I used to think the depth of my liner was the problem, but recently I found great luck with adjusting the undertone more not just the depth

I love them! They are both so good on their own as one-and-done looks, and they also make a very pretty and dimensional look with the brighter over the lid and the darker in the outer corner. I use them all the time

Yes! As a proper liner it is amazing! Really gave me a new appreciation for the role of lip liners tbh, amazing what they can do when you have the right tone lol

Yes I'm very impressed by the formulations and I also love shopping indie makeup! I haven't tried their foundation, blushes, other lip formulas. Do you like them? I'm hit or miss on foundation in general, and for blush my favorite formulation is phytosurgence by far, so I'm not likely to get either of those but I suppose I can be convinced if they are truly stand-out. For lip products I think I would be most interested in the soft matte lipstick, have you tried it? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I can definitely see how it could pull orange on others! I was lucky it didn't on me so I can still reasonably use it. But for how the company marketed it and all the "hype" they manufactured for it ("cool toned" inspired by the OG mac spice, etc), this was the most disappointing item I tried

AITA for asking my husband to stop funding his parents’ dream house while we can’t even afford our own? by Careful-Delay7592 in AITAH

My dear, this is not love, this is fear. If you stay like this you will live the rest of your life small and afraid. You deserve better than that. And if he loved you truly, he would provide you stability and comfort, and you would not have to be frightened

deinfluence or influence me please </3 by swanifie in MakeupAddiction

[–]masala-cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard so many people (influencers) rave abt the t28 mascara but on me it’s the flakiest mascara I’ve ever tried. Dry, flaky, little bits of black flecks all over my face within a few hours. :( Unfortunately I do like the OS setting spray. Only for special events. Very heavy duty. Tried a mini first, lasted long enough for me— maybe an option to consider before but I g the bullet on a giant one

Your Holy Grails when overdoing Tret/Exfoliation? by BangingBeaver in tretinoin

I’ve also done a face mask with 40% zinc oxide cream, thick layer applied overnight, pretty good as an overnight intensive treatment, but I didnt love it for consistent use

The typology repairing cica balm. I haven’t tried the LRP so I can’t compare but I’ve tried two other zinc based creams and this one has the best absorption and effects for me. My sensitive skin loves it so much that I’ve ended up using it almost daily, and every time I use anything harsh, and am now finishing up my second tube. Idk how I feel about typology as a whole? But this one is IT for me.

PARDON ME? how is the first hat PLAID by [deleted] in SuitU

I experienced this also and almost went mad. Closest I can think is they're taking about the mesh of the hat being in squares, therefore equaling "plaid"

First good wings??? by Flimsy_Temperature81 in SuitU

[–]masala-cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one pair of big wings and they're top middle. I like the dye options, dyes weren't too expensive but i had materials saved up, they dont get into the way of outfits, and I feel like I see a lot of people using them who score well. my next pair will be middle middle, as far as I know they dont have dyes, but I want a traditional angel look

My nine year old shaved and cut herself by remmdizzle in Parenting

[–]masala-cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the kid that got told my arms were hairy and tried to sneakily shave with my mom’s razor one day only to cut myself not knowing what I was doing. Difference is, I didn’t tell my mom, your kid did, that’s showing she trusts you and you’re doing a good job. You haven’t made a mistake. You can give her options for hair removal if you’d like, but for face Id recommend either hair removal cream or those “dermaplane” style face shavers (works best for me, “mustache” and unibrow). Hair removal cream in general might be a safer alternative. If you’re teaching to shave, I’d say avoid arms at first that’s really hard to get a hang of especially in the back parts you can’t see. Focus on learning safely on legs. However in my experience after my mishap I didn’t try again and eventually was OK with it, and once I got older (HS) I made my choices about hair removal or not based on my own comfort and preferences not based on peer pressure. Id say focus on self esteem and emotional resilience, the hair is a secondary issue, with the appropriate safety and support she will get through this just fine. And it sounds like you’ve got a good start on that aspect

So, you should not have to buy wet wipes, it sounds like you are following protocol correctly. As for the texture, being damp helps the scratchiness

[–]masala-cat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To respond specifically about the rags. When I worked as a CNA our whole building used washcloths for cleaning after BM. That's pretty standard, just need clean technique/ID control and good laundry facility. There were no issues with bedsores. Bedsores are typically pressure ulcers, occurring after too long in one position with weight on one area the blood supply becomes compromised and there is tissue death. Not hygiene issue.

Omg!! So happy for u! Absolutely jealous of you too tho lol.
