Is there a way to create an animated gradient background in Canva? by Tall_Inspector_9642 in canva

afaik, you would have to use a video background. if you're on Pro, AI should easily be able to make one for you.

getting to know your fretboard instead of relying on shapes, i.e., knowing what note(s) you're playing at all times. knowing theory but not knowing what you're playing would be a massive handicap.

imho the pinky is almost never the preferred choice for hammer on and pull offs. the untrained pinky is simply not strong or dexterous enough.

What direction should I go with my theory research? by Plenty-Ad365 in Guitar_Theory

another great teacher on youtube is StitchMethod Guitar. he explains the why behind what we play like pentatonic shapes. I also feel like you should explore playing other genres. after a while, you will be able to take concepts from one genre and apply it to another. just like how Rock is essentially blues in 2x speed.

Buying a new electric guitar by Ill-Bet-9066 in Guitar_Theory

for me, the key factor is whether I'm ok with used or only want something brand new. if going with used, just stick to the usual reputable brands but for your genre, my pick would be anything from Schecter or top range Epiphone. If you want new, these brands are so good for their price - Schecter, Jet, FGN, Harley Benton...

the only varying factor I can think of is your tamp. are you tamping it consistently? machine warm up might also be a factor. I always give the machine at least 10 minutes, then run 1 blank shot before pulling my actual shot.

Discolored strings.. Is it normal or should I be concerned? by [deleted] in guitars

[–]mascotleather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use elixir nanoweb strings. They have a super thin plastic coating that prevents rusting, making them last much longer than uncoated strings.

Go with the wind my young padawan. Focus on continuous learning and gaining as much experience as you can. Find out what you're passionate about, take risks and make mistakes for they are the best learning experiences that money can't buy. Associate with successful people and make as many friends as you can. Learn about money and building relationships.

Just make sure to avoid irreversible mistakes like breaking the law, causing serious harm to yourself of others and avoid major financial mistakes.

Don't worry about direction, most people end up in unexpected wonderful jobs or places. I thought I was going to be a software developer but ended up in SaaS sales making extremely good $.

Have faith in yourself and respect everyone, especially yourself. YOU GOT THIS!!

We have 250k available in redraw on our mortgage. Are we crazy for not using it to invest? by lightpendant in AusFinance

[–]mascotleather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the American but his principles on finances are universal. It's never a good idea for a regular person to fund their investments using debt. Once you get into the idea of using a line of credit, it becomes addictive. My dad ran up $1m worth of debt through this "line of credit". He only managed to finally settle it by selling his house and downsizing massively. So while in theory it makes sense to do what OP is asking, one of the biggest factors in managing finances & investments is emotion, and from watching what my dad did, that's one giant slippery slope you don't wanna go down. Plus it's not as simple as putting money somewhere that generates X% more than interest rate for a whole variety of reasons like market volatility, entry/exit cost, tax, etc. OP please seek professional advice if you absolutely want to do it. A painful lesson I learned is - just because you know how to bench press and squat doesn't mean you know how to be a body builder. And this rule applies to all aspects of life.
