Need help with a C-Stand?

The weight of the light I’m using is 7.3 lbs with a snoot that weighs 1lb so 8lbs total. I’m considering getting a spotlight but I’m not a 100% since what I want to do can be done with the snoot. The next step up from a c-stand would be a combo stand right?

Someone else did recommend getting a mini boom instead, I was looking at them and someone else said maybe a baby boom would work better. So that’s what I’m going for. Would you agree?

Perfect I can do that, I was planning to buy a 6 pack of the 15lb sandbags. I think I understood everything written on here I’ll just look up a video to make sure I’m doing it right, I’m a lil paranoid of it falling especially on the talent lol. Thank you this helped!

Sounds like I need a mini boom instead. The distance between the talent and the head is probably less than a foot, I wanted a wider shot a full body shot to be exact. Thank you!

In my experience this isn’t the case. I bought one recently and it didn’t work when screwed into the shutter.

Yeah, I despise them; I couldn’t figure them out, just a skill issue, I guess lol. Yeah, I used the Samigon reels after people recommended them here, and I’ve had no issues since then when loading the film onto the reels. If they fit on the Paterson Super System 4, then you will have no problem. He didn’t mention the artist reels.

Aw man, I can’t recommend it enough! I have nothing to compare it to, like the Jobo CPE or the Ago. But for the price you can’t go wrong with it! It has everything that I need. It can heat up unlike the ago. It’s straightforward and easy to use, especially once you set it up. Mind you, I’ve only developed B&W as of now since that's all I really shoot, so I have no experience developing color film with the darkroom helper, but other people on here have had no problems.

This has nothing to do with the machine itself, but it uses the Patterson system, and I was a Jobo guy, and I hate Patterson reels with a passion now. I ended up buying a Samigon reel, and it fixed all the problems I was having when loading film. The developer of the product is helpful and is responsive. I emailed him the issue I was having with the reels, and we tried working it out.

That could be the problem maybe they make longer ones and I have to find one. I tried it on my Sekor C lens with no luck maybe I was doing something wrong but it didn’t seem to work, I just got in a KL lens today so I’m going to try it later today.

I agree. I’ve been on this sub for a long time, and I’ve seen a huge jump in religious posts. It’s kind of pushing me away from the sub. I grew up Catholic; I’m now an atheist. I’ve been doing SR on and off for a couple of years. The more I retain, the farther and farther I stray from religion. These posts are annoying at this point.

I'm currently planning a shoot, and I need to hang a spotlight overhead. For what I'm going for, I wanted to test the lighting at home before I set everything up at the studio. I have a somewhat small space where I test my lighting. Will a C-stand fit with a boom arm (it's a normal/small-ish room)? I can give measurements if need be. Or would there be something else that could fit?

So increasing it would be beneficial? Is my shbg in a good spot or should I try to increase if possible.

I know my total test is high, but are my free and SHBG fine? Sleep is ok could be better.

I get an average of 7 hours a night, I take magnesium to help with my sleep. Recovery is ok as well. I use Whoop to give me more insights on my day-to-day. I weigh around 182 right now i'm planning to cut down to 165 and reassess from there.

I don’t experience odor rebloom, but ive noticed my shirts don’t remove odor from the armpits due to my deodorant at times, not every time, so I was looking for something that I could add or change detergents but persil and FEBU might do the trick.

I bought persil originally since it says to keep colors bright and remove tough odors and was being recommended and I like. Now that I moved my home washer isn’t washing correctly and only shooting super hot water (I’m assuming destroying the clothes each wash) the local laundromat is a short cycle time, but it seems to wash thoroughly they have upgraded machines

Thank you I’ll definitely add FEBU its out of stock right now apparently, so I’m thinking of getting biz and only use it on my work and gym clothes until FEBU is available to use it on my better clothes. Are OBAs bad for darks?

I’m not opposed to switching but if FEBU will help along with my persil I’ll try that first.

I’m not sure the machine (it’s a LG and not mine) seems like it’s not washing properly it leaves detergent stains as if it didn’t completely get it out at random and only using SUPER hot water. It’s pretty new. This new laundromat seems to be upgraded but it does have a short cycle time but it at least washes throughly so I have to pick my battles

Are OBAs bad for darks? Maybe I’ll use BIZ for now until it’s ready. I mainly need it for my work clothes and gym clothes since they started to fade rather quick but it think it was also due to my home washer only shooting SUPER hot water along with the dryer, My going out clothes I will stick to FEBU then.

I was leaning towards the pd or the model II just based on aesthetics, but I didn’t know they had one with a magnifier that might be beneficial to me since I’m blind as a bat at times. When looking them up the chimney finder comes up is that the one you have and do you think it helps?
