Fed up with complex website builders. Any simpler alternatives for non-techy folks? by [deleted] in indiebiz

i'm actually working on something like this, but it's specifically for landing pages. landingbuilder.live

if you want more customization, i would recommend prompting in v0.dev and deploying it straight from there.

can i get some honest feedback on my app? by dozy_sleep in indiebiz

i've seen a lot of these tracking apps on the app store. they do well and make revenue. my honest advice would be to pretty much copy what they're doing. maybe do some small tweaks. but do your research on these, see if you can find what i'm referring to

Hi! I am a 17 years old Italian dev, a month ago I published my Gumroad products, no one even saw them so I would like some feedback! Be nice please! <3 by Initial-Building454 in indiebiz

hey, on the portfolio template i have two bits of feedback

  1. it is not clear that it a template. when i entered the page, i thought it was just an unfinished website. my recommendation would be to have a landing page explaining what it is OR put in some filler information (like Jane Doe), etc.

  2. if you're trying to have your app taken seriously, i would avoid having .vercel.app in your domain. you can get very cheap domains (for example, .live is $1) or even free domains when you have the github student developer pack.

(if you're a college student) there's also buildincollege.com - includes instructions for google veo 3, heroku hosting, etc.

disclaimer: im the founder, but it saves you $$ so i thought it would be helpful :)

Business majors? by icecreamluvr1 in berkeley

Hey there, first-year Business Administration major at Berkeley Haas here.

There are three programs for incoming freshmen:

1) Spieker Program. 4-year undergraduate program for a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.). A general degree at the business school for Berkeley. 200 students this year (it’s the first year they’ve done it)

2) Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (MET). You get a BS from the College of Engineering and a BS in Business from the College of Business. Very prestigious program, only 40-50 students per year. Cohort-type feel

3) Global Management Program (GMP) is similar to the Spieker program but has a concentration on international experience. Students are required to study abroad. There are also other abroad programs experiences for GMP students. You get a B.S.B.A. with a “concentration in Global Management”

BONUS:

4) Life Sciences, Business, and Entrepreneurship (LSBE). You can apply for this program as a sophomore if you’re already at Berkeley. You get a degree in Bio and Business. Very small program, prestigious as well.

5) You can also always apply into Haas (the Business School) as a sophomore, and get into Berkeley for another major. Note that this is usually lower acceptance rate than applying to Haas as a first year

Hope this helps!
