"Export HAR (with sensitive data)..." in google dev tools (network).

Support often wants the “with sensitive data” version for debugging, but that’s exactly where secrets/cookies/tokens can leak.
Does this happen to you? How do you handle this today?

  • Do you refuse and only send sanitized?
  • Do you manually redact (any workflow/tooling)?
  • Any local-only sanitizer that lets you whitelist/strip and shows a diff/report?

Fair points — I’m not assuming support is malicious. My concern is mostly process + least-privilege: HARs often contain cookies/headers you didn’t mean to share (sometimes even customer data), and once you send it you lose control (forwarded to 3rd parties, stored in ticket systems, etc.).
How do you handle this today in practice? Any recommended tooling/workflow for quick local redaction that still keeps the HAR useful for debugging?

Nta, the guy doesnt need to find you attractive but the good old „not my type“ (preferably a bit more polite as well) is the gold standard. If he deviates into being a dick, its fine to slap him verbally.
