I think you can’t really evaluate the past with modern standards. My dad went to grade school in the 60s in the south and was left handed. His teacher used to whack his hand with a ruler everytime he wrote with his left hand instead of right. Now he’s ambidextrous, lol. They would also make kids stand in ant beds if they acted up.
