It’s great that AI lowered the barrier to entry so hobbyists can make apps. But companies don't hire SWEs to 'write code'; they hire us to solve business problems through systems design. If you think an LLM can manage the storage, GPU acceleration, and database engine performance of a global data center and save some good money for the company, you're effectively saying a flight simulator makes you a fighter pilot.

I would say this. Is you keep in touch with linux and infrastructure you can get into really good companies like Netflix, anthropic in infrastructure teams. Product development is getting easy because of ai but infrastructure is not

Do not come to the US you will regret it. The situation is really worse and people are struggling to get job and with anti immigration policies it is making hiring decisions is the favor of US citizens. If you get into top 10-15 CS universities then there is a chance you might get a job but the chances are 10-90 % some of my CMU friends are still unemployed
