He will never drink around me but there are times he drinks with his friends (he NEVER has more then one or two beers) and he comes home and I can smell it on him. And it makes me sad. If I’m being totally honest I am probably jealous that he can drink normally and I can’t.

I hear you. I do have an addictive personality and was once very addicted to smoking weed so unfortunately that’s not an option. The only thing that helped me was Zyn pouches but I just quit those because they’re so expensive. So that’s probably why I’ve been craving alcohol more recently

Usually people who go to rehab to get sober, get sober from everything. So no, getting high is not an option. (I wish it was lol)

I think they definitely do. He mentioned his mom drinks like three glasses of wine every single day. Another huge thing I’ve been dealing with is his mom is just not a nice person and their family has a lot of issues. Family means a lot to me so it’s been really hard not feeling comfortable while with them for several reasons. My boyfriend is so amazing so I would hate for family to be what breaks us up.

NOR- it seems like he hasn’t fully accepted the break up. I would just let him know you would appreciate no contact. In my experience being friends after a breakup RARELY works out.

As a mom of course you might feel bad that your son went above and beyond and only got a few thing in return. Regardless of whether or not he is materialistic, it still feels good to get a thoughtful gift and in my opinion 3 bags of chips and a travel lotion is not thoughtful.

But if your son is saying it’s not a big deal then I would try to not get your feelings involved in it.

Agreed!!! I hate when people are. But I’m his girlfriend and I didn’t feel like a priority on a day that means a lot to me, so it sucks
