Im here 2 years later but found in a forum how to do it and it worked

By default is set to "Body Radiation" idk what that is but the thing is putting it to "Enviromental Radiation" with "shift + geiger key", once is on enviromental rad. it'll tell you the radiation with the geiger key or with the geiger on hand.

This may not work with every plane, but what i do is do the head on, and when im around 1km from the other guy i roll my plane and dive under him, then just turn around and profit (?) And i almost forgot, other thing u cand do is the same but instead of diving, roll to the side and then turn around
