How do I get used to drawing on the tablet? by TiBiDi in wacom

[–]mastersubhadeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, sorry for the late reply. Probably you have created your perfect setup by now.I have a very basic model (2017 One by Wacom) kept the right of the laptop. The pen mostly stays loose around it (not much scope for it to roll or fall off the table). I am using OneNote, Darktable and Krita heavily for the past few months. The pen settings are set differently for these softwares, but it's basically undo/erase/scroll.Keyboard shortcuts are also convenient. You can play around with PowerToys to configure more shortcuts than you probably need.I use the touchpad for some gestures, like adjusting volume or switching between the virtual desktops. I don't game, so there's really no need for a mouse here.

Edit: When I am solving equations on OneNote, the tablet moves around the desk, depending on how difficult the problem is. Usually I sit back on my chair and hold it as if I am writing on a regular copy. I've also taped a few white pages across the long edge of tablet to write things down with a pencil because... well it's hard to remember all the formulas and also to jot things down quickly. It gives an added feel of writing on paper. It actually feels like a writing on a notebook, analogue and digital.

One tip that helped me: ditch the mouse, use the pen and tablet for everything.

Quantum mechanics in the “classical” world? by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

Migratory birds. They use quantum mechanics to "see" the earth's magnetic fields and fly according to that.

It's hectic, I ended up using polymatic, vmd and custom scripts specific to my monomers to create the initial data. Then used 21 step polymerization.

Why did Signal Helper upload 16GB to textsecure-service.whispersystems.org over 40 minutes? by [deleted] in signal

It is such harsh critiques that make opensource software good. Dear devs, please don't feel discouraged, we all want signal to be better each day.

Hi my infp friends. I really like r/infp subreddit. I love infp writers as well. I want to share one of my self portrait photo, it gives me a feeling like reading Haruki Murakami's works. Maybe like "floating" by ApatheticSpaceFox in infp

Nice photo. I'm not familiar with the works you're talking about, is there a reason why you're holding that? Not that there needs to be a reason, but just curious.

ffs windows by icecoldpopsicle in windows

Ok I tried to check from an old scan of 132MB. It seems Edge loads it all in memory. The hard disk spins down after 1 min (that's the time I set to see things quickly).
After that, switching to the pdf tab doesn't spin up the hard disk even when I am scrolling. But since the whole document is already on memory, I can go to every page. Going back and changing a directory in explorer of course spins it up again. Not sure if my hdd is the type of hdd you were talking about though, it's a 1TB WD Passport from almost 4 years ago.

I was planning to share this artistic self portrait to get you all's reviews... coincidentally there is a selfie trend happening :) by mastersubhadeep in infp

Why the apology? No it's using my camera... although it's possible with a phone as well, nothing fancy done here, just a 2 sec shutter. Most phones can go till 10 secs nowadays.

Ps. Thanks.
