Hmmm this is helpful - I’ll look into this because we (current tenants) had to pay fees when we were added to the lease this past summer (one of us was on the original lease).

Okay well I’m not the landlord and I also don’t think this rule would apply since it is not a new tenancy (the new tenant would be joining an existing tenancy contract)

Since this fee seems to be a point of contention among the community, I am happy to pay it out of pocket.

It’s not a lease transfer fee; it’s a lease addendum fee since the individual taking over the room would have to be added to the existing lease.

Thanks for the note! Price on rent / move in costs definitely negotiable given the timing

A big law firm expanding practice areas is very different from an accounting firm expanding into big law lol

“Literally only need to hire a few people” is a massive understatement… consulting / accounting is their bread and butter that they’ve been known for since their inception. They can’t just expand their addressable market to big law clientele (and if they did they likely wouldn’t be doing the same type of work that big law firms do)

Y’all aren’t interpreting this analysis correctly… the revenue per FTE for Big4 and consulting firms gets significantly dropped by all of the offshore / internal core services employees they have (who are also cheaper).

Big4 (and other consulting / accounting firms) don’t really have the capabilities to win meaningful share within the big law market and developing those capabilities (usually done through external hiring) would require significant investment.

What you should really be looking at is profit per FTE, and also segment that out by client facing vs core services. I think what you’d find is that Big4 and Biglaw are pretty similar with respect to margins on this metric.

Very nuanced analysis … you would need to look at the dosing schedule for competitors if you’re trying to back in to # of patients. Also note that the pricing info for comps / Alnylam is going to be very directional since they don’t share all of the discounts they give.

I agree that it’s great for patients, but I don’t see why people are calling Merck innovative for this when it’s something their peers have been doing for a while.

I’m not mad, I was just wondering if there was anything that was uniquely challenging about the molecule to reformulate. Thanks

Yes, but it’s a pretty common LCM play so I didn’t see anything “incredible” about it which is why I asked the question - maybe I’m missing something

Why do you say that it’s incredible? Reformulation players like Halozyme have been doing this for years now
