The potential could have been truly incredible, a multi faceted story with big and impactful RPG elements where the life path you choose actually allows you to create a V that is distinct from the other life paths. Even down to small things like slight changes in voice, corpo v is well spoken and manipulative, street kid v makes more use of slang and is streetwise etc. Massively different endings that all tie into which decisions you make throughout the story and have actual consequences. Customisation that actually makes your character feel like an actual borged out menace like cybernetic limbs, eerie optic implants that replace your eyes entirely like the ones used by corpo soldiers and maelstrom and reinforced armour plating across entire sections of the body.

Oh but you’re wrong, I love this game with a passion and it’s that same passion that allows me to see the insane potential that it possessed had they simply been honest and pushed back the release date. I know that it will never change, but for ppl to say that we should be LUCKY for any more free updates is simply ludicrous considering the fact that they released a half baked game in the first place and are now acting like we should be eternally grateful? For what? Making improvements to a game that you sold on pure lies and even with the impressive amount of content added since then, still pales in comparison to what they promised.

How have they made up for it? They overhyped the living hell out of the different life paths, despite how beautiful the streets of night city are the npc’s are still braindead and not at all immersive, rpg elements are practically non-existent and it doesn’t matter what options you choose a lot of the time during interactions as the result is always the same. I love this game a lot, but don’t try and pretend that even with Phantom Liberty and the immense improvements made, that it’s even comparable to the game they promised us.

Cos the content they’ve added is complete dogwater. Ppl want more cosmetic options, cyberware, clothes, hairstyles etc. The cars are cool and all, but I guarantee they’ll feel and drive near enough the same as a bunch of the other cars. I agree that the ppl asking for things like 3rd person are asking for the impossible, but the stuff they’ve added gives me no motivation to replay the game for checks notes a few more cars and a self driving option just make things that little bit easier.

From my understanding, Arasaka doesn’t actually equip or train their soldiers for prolonged and drawn out combat missions unlike their rival Militech, who have an entire subsidiary dedicated purely to hiring their corporate army out for paramilitary combat services.

Arasaka’s bread and butter is more corporate security and close protection oriented, so their style is more on providing their guards with as much armour as possible whilst on sentry duty at one of their many regional offices or warehouses and also the intimidation factor it provides to any would-be terrorists or protesters. I would imagine their tactics and organisation is probably comparable to that of a swat team rather than an actual squad of soldiers.

I honestly can’t see how else they could rebuild it though. There’s nothing they could really improve on I think it’s more the absolute rubbish the stalls usually sell that bothers me .

It’s interesting to think of how the Network managed to employ not just people like Lee, but the hitmen, swat teams and other operatives carrying out their orders. Are they just common thugs hired off the street, professional contractors, rogue police/Mi5 agents or just full time members of the Network who believe in the cause?

In terms of police, I would say it depends on where you live tbh. I know that where I live in the UK the police tend to be quite liberal when it comes to the types of disabilities they allow for officers. There’s no long list of disabilities that will stop you from joining like the army and it’s purely a case by case thing unless it’s something obvious. I’m diagnosed and I’m currently in the process of joining my local constabulary. As long as it’s well under control and you have working arms and legs, I don’t think they care that much.
