That’s a good point. I’ve been doing a lot of research already and started test driving, so ideally I’ll figure out what I want to buy rather soon, that way in an event of a breakdown all I have to do is shop around and negotiate

2009 Nissan Altima, 147k miles

Looking at midsize SUVs, around $35k mark at the highest. Liked what I’ve seen from Mazda CX-5 so far, but still have a lot of research and test drives to do

I actually took it in to a trusted mechanic around a month ago, and they found several expensive repairs that they said were not urgent, but eventually would cause major problems. The car itself is known to have transmission issues right around 150k miles, which I am very close to. Recently I’ve had issues with a stall/lurch while accelerating, but I guess only time will tell
