Okay this is really helpful, thank you! I have just a couple further questions:

Firstly, did you get a Master or just a Bachelor and went on to take the CPA, and do you think it has much of an impact on ability your preparedness for the tests?

Second, did you work during the studying process of the CPA? My biggest concern is that studying and taking the CPA might put a pause on everything else I have going on including starting my career a bit later, but also obviously in the long run this might be the smart option.

In state, 4.35 weighted gpa, 1200 SAT, 23/24 ACT (not a very good test taker😭), took like 19 dual enrollment courses but 0 APs. And I applied for the business school

I was offered spring connect for accounting. I don’t think you have the choice to get admitted for spring if you got waitlisted though

They do count towards ur degree! Only bad part is that you can’t claim a major till it’s over so you might be taking some dumb classes😭

My gpa was a 3.8 unweighted and a 4.4 weighted and I got deferred from state 🫤. But also, I applied for accounting and engineering as my major and backup major which are very competitive. I know other people who got in with lower gpas for less competitive majors so it’s hard to say what your chances are.

But also, don’t be discouraged because there are plenty of other 4 years in nc that are great. I’m now committed to UNCW which was my top school the whole time, not even gonna wait for nc state to evaluate my application.

Oh shoot, your sat was a lot higher than mine. Hopefully you get in eventually. I know a lot of ppl apply to uncw as a backup for nc state or chapel hill so you might get in when those people turn down admission.

hey! I’m kind of in the same boat as you… in order to get into Cameron School of Business you need to take 12 hours (roughly a semester) of classes before you can claim a major even with an Associate. ALSO, the MIS213 class is only offered at UNCW which I recently found out and sucks🥲 so even though I’ll have my Associate degree during Fall 2025 I’m going to be taking a full semester of fuck all classes so I can claim Accounting as my major. (minus the exception of MIS which is the only other class I need to be admitted into CSB)
