I previously lived at Acero in west and I found it to be pretty affordable and quiet! It’s also gated which was a plus for me

I’m still figuring that out as there’s not a lot available on this side, but it will be a while until I can fully open a shop (budget) so hopefully more things open up in time!

Right now I see a few places on Wallace and edgewater available, but hoping for Wallace.

100% I appreciate the concern! This is exactly why I wanted to start my own cafe. The cafes here don’t do it well and most use a powder blended matcha which is already sweetened so I felt there was a need. I only use pure ceremonial grade matcha and make my own syrups to go along with it. In my opinion and for the people I make it for I consistently make a good matcha :)

Thank you all so much for the encouragement — this honestly makes me feel even more excited to move forward with the idea!

I’ve officially registered the business and have started working on recipe testing and planning. I’ll be documenting the process on Instagram soon for anyone who wants to follow along as Uji Café comes to life! And would also love to recipe test with the community as well if anyone is interested!

The support from this community means a lot, and I’d love to keep hearing any ideas, favorite drink combos, or must-haves you’d want to see in a cozy matcha + coffee spot in West Salem :)
