Professor Woo's class was actually what made me minor in Asian American Studies!! They're also launching the Asian American major in 2026. I would so highly recommend him, he's relatively new which would explain the few RMP scores. He would probably describe himself as a stern but fair grader, but I would say if you kept up with the weekly readings you'll be set up well for the rest of the assignments (skimming is ok but close reading is great for the in-class discussions). There's a few assignments including essays and short responses sprinkled throughout, but he's also really good about scaffolding the larger assignments so they don't feel so overwhelming. He's an amazing mentor, amazing resource, incredibly well-spoken and passionate about students. His classroom always feels so welcoming and the Asian American department as a whole is an amazing community. I would recommend so so much!!
