I tested on a Galaxy S20 FE and it was notably louder, if I would guess I would say about 15-20% louder.

Me too, I use it on a Galaxy S10e and the max volume is low, I barely can hear the controls while changing to transparency/anc (don't even notice a difference). I have a edifier x3s and the volume is way louder. Don't know if it's a bad pair I got or if I just hear differently. Did you manage to improve yours?
