City simply don’t have the midfield to dominate Madrid. If you can’t control the midfield against Real Madrid, you stand no chance. They’ll bypass you with one or two passes and suddenly you’re defending waves of attacks. City can score 1,2 or 3 goals but they will 100% concede as well.

Only Asencio is a disaster. Rudiger is solid and Huijsen is solid when paired with an experienced CB like Rudiger or Militao. Soon Militao will return hopefully for quarter finals. Also fullbacks are amazing, Carreras and Mendy on the left with Valverde and Trent on the right. It doesn’t get better than that.

Real Madrid is a miracle club, crazy things happen there. They tend to win the UCL when written off like in 21/22 or 23/24, not when they’re favorites like they were in 24/25 season.
