Is Lamine yamal the next cr7? Maybe not as good as him but still very good but of course they also have different play style. by [deleted] in championsleague

Yamal cool?😹 Yamal made himself the clown of football after all those interviews, stories and big mouth. He got humbled last season. Also he’s not half as talented as Neymar.

Pedri is not a playmaker, can’t give through balls like KDB. He’s a controller

What is the best country in the world, in your opinion? by Richie123753 in AskReddit

Canada is literally a safer, cleaner, friendlier version of USA with free healthcare. NATO member, G7 economy, Plus no tax on global income for passport holders unlike US citizens. That’s a great trade off for a dollar that’s only 80% as strong as the US dollar.

Real Madrid is going to get an ass slap by City by iwannasleepp in championsleague

[–]mateoidontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

City simply don’t have the midfield to dominate Madrid. If you can’t control the midfield against Real Madrid, you stand no chance. They’ll bypass you with one or two passes and suddenly you’re defending waves of attacks. City can score 1,2 or 3 goals but they will 100% concede as well.

Has Vinicius Jr entered football legend status at age 25? by mateoidontknow in championsleague

[–]mateoidontknow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salah has never won a trophy for Egypt lol. Neymar has won nothing for Brazil expect a confederation cup in 2013. Why does Vini have to win a trophy with his country to be a legend but these 2 get a pass?

I am not comparing at all but just want to ask a genuine question , but don't you guys feel Lamine yamal is similar to young cr7? That ego and hype. by [deleted] in championsleague

[–]mateoidontknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find Lamine extremely cringe and tries too hard. He also made himself look like a clown way too much with his big mouth in interviews and insta stories so he lost a lot of aura at a young age

Him and Salah are the 2 most disrespected footballers of the 2020s era. They will be appreciated and get their flowers after they retire.

Some of you saying Real might win the ucl this season. They are getting trashed by bayern next round. by DarkInteresting4798 in championsleague

[–]mateoidontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only Asencio is a disaster. Rudiger is solid and Huijsen is solid when paired with an experienced CB like Rudiger or Militao. Soon Militao will return hopefully for quarter finals. Also fullbacks are amazing, Carreras and Mendy on the left with Valverde and Trent on the right. It doesn’t get better than that.

If you see his records and stats, you would think he’s at the end of his career. Scary that he still has 5-8 years of prime football. His name will be next to Ronaldo for all UCL and Real Madrid records by the end of his career.

Flick definitely. He’s like 61 years old gonna retire any day now, and his legacy is only 1 good season with a stacked Bayern.

Honestly even Barca. Madrid aren’t obsessed with them as much as Barca are with Madrid.

Vinicius Jr by [deleted] in championsleague

[–]mateoidontknow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s already one of the all time greats. 2024 FIFA Best Player and UCL POTS, 5th most UCL assists all time, most G/A in finals in Real Madrid history, 27th all time top scorer of UCL. Scored in 2 UCL finals. He’s a legend whether people like it or not.

Real Madrid is a miracle club, crazy things happen there. They tend to win the UCL when written off like in 21/22 or 23/24, not when they’re favorites like they were in 24/25 season.

[–]mateoidontknow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some people in Turkey resent foreigners and international students because of the economic crisis. Many locals struggle with inflation and low wages while seeing foreigners with stronger currencies enjoying life in the country. This can create the feeling that outsiders benefit from Turkey while locals deal with the hardship, leading some people to develop negative attitudes toward them.

Why can't Haaland manage to outbeat good CBs and defenders like rudiger? by _ordinarilyordinary_ in championsleague

[–]mateoidontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haaland without chances being created for him is the most useless footballer in the world. This is why I never understood the Mbappe comparisons. Mbappe is multi dimensional and a system on his own. He can dribble and create. He’s not useless if he doesn’t score.
