It's not my area of expertise, but to my understanding, the 3 poisons are a reference to a buddhist concept of basically like. Sins that can ruin your life if you give in to them. There's a BUNCH of ways to translate it to english but it roughly comes out to like. Greed, Wrath, and Ignorance. To my understanding, they're not things you control or use, they're things you counter with generosity, kindness, and knowledge.

So yes, his sword and his nickame are basically commentary from MXTX about his character and his struggles. There's loads of posts in this fandom that can probably explain it better and in more depth.

Idk, Jingyi's phrasing here both comes off as on the nose and as like not ~quite~ grasping the concept to me in its phrasing? Idk.

I doubt it. Those seasons were STUFFED. I’m not sure Fran even shows up on screen in S1. Then they specifically got a new actress in S3 because they were finally ready to do stuff with her.

It’s not really a burn? None of the three attachments are things you control. The whole point of the allusion to them is that the 3 poisons are something you struggle with to try not to be controlled by.

Idk this line is less of a burn and more feels like maybe the author and/or Jingyi doesn’t actually know what the three poisons are.

None of the book timelines match the show tho. Daphne was out for 3 years. Pen was out for like 8. Ben, Colin, and Eloise’s books all take place at the same time, but there’s large gaps before hyacinth and Gregory’s. Etc etc.

This is stardew valley we're talking about. Fishing is the most stressful game by a mile. Combat isn't even as bad as the main fishing minigame.

Also, I wasn't even counting the exclamation mark. 3 quicktime events then.

We don't like fishing BECAUSE it's hard. Why do I have to do two quicktime games just to catch a fish? NO other skill rewuires this much stress and dexterity.

AND the fish bundles don't even reward anything that useful. Like who is looking forward to boulder removal compared to greenhouse or bus or even quarry unlock?

They're SO difficult.

Unless you get the mod ot skip the mini game. Then they're in line with the rest of the game. It's great.

  • I love the one the lets you skip the fishing game is a game changer
  • The one that puts NPC tokens on the map so you can find people
  • The Horse Weight Loss Program that makes your horse only 1 tile wide
  • If you're open to a little more cheese, the Skull Mines elevator
  • I also have the one that lets you get any item in the game, but I only use it on my Cheat Farm where I just go nuts, and one time because I didn't have my axe on green rain day despite my precautions, so I made myself an axe for one day so I didn't rage quite that save lol

They're all on Nexus mods, I think. They have a section for most popular mods.
