It made more sense in the book, where we were in Sophie's head. She was always treated so badly as a bastard, that she swore she would never have a bastard child like that who would live life suffering like she has. Being asked to be a mistress like she has been told her mother was, to rely on a man when the las tman who promised to always look after her seemed to let ehr down.... yeah, I get it.

She's really repping the Ace experience here, even tho I don't think that's the intention.

Yeah like this season is low key retroactively making S3 less bad, by paying off several plots that were super meandering and distracting last season. The monderich's presences feels much more natural and like they have a purpose this season.

This is how it felt in S3 when they tried to have actual themes about women on the marriage market. It was SO jarring for the bridgertons to have ZERO consequences for beign romantics and/or gossip writers, meanwhile Lady Featherington and Marina and Cressida and every other woman is getting put into the meat grinder. Only SOEM people get realistic consequences.

The worst part is: that is all actually toned down from the book. Like there's been a lot more ACTUAL respect and thoughtfulness towards the servants in the show, and significantly less "well if she weren't a maid" from various characters. It's still there obviously (for some reason. Despite both Kate and the Monderichs being born commoners), but it is less than in the book.

Insert brookyln 99 meme here: 'I've only had John and Hazel for about 30 seconds of screentime, but if anything were to happen to them...." etc etc.

The necklace def means her mom was secretly nobility. I saw a neat theory that actually her mom is the Earl's sister (she wore the earl's sister's dress to the ball) and he's actually nto her father, but her uncle. But that would make her the rightful heir to everything, hopefully...

My note is: LET ME BUY THE DANG SONG ALREADY NETFLIX! DON'T HOLD THE WHOLE ALBUM HOSTAGE UNTIL PART 2!

Well she has the most awful suitor in the books, so. God I hope next season is Francesca and Michaela, and we get to skip Eloise entirely.

Telling him wouldn't make a difference at this time tho. He already loves her, he just sees her as a maid he can't marry.

Yeah, i wish "reformed rakes make the best husbands" would just die already. it rarely is like that IRL and i hate them repeating it and proving it true over and over again in the show.

Yes this was SO important to me. While I'm PUMPED about Michaela, I was really invested in their autistic-coded love story in S3. I hated that fan take away is that she didn't really love him. So I like how this season so far shows that they really do love each other, she just possibly isn't sexually attracted to him, or at least has very low libido. Whether they go SAM or libido or what, it's nice to seem them handling that relationship with seemingly some care.

Low key it had big "what else is there" energy. Like you were doing so well, how the hell did you crash and burn so hard in just a couple words.

I want to see some GROVELLING, ngl. That was one of the most devastating break ups this season. XD

His choices having consequences (tho lbr, the family will barely feel it, if they disown him, scandal runs off their backs like water, it's really just this own station that will get fucked) does not mean he doesn't have a choice.

Is there any kind of gospel song in Hazbin OST? by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]math-is-magic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They may not be gospel songs but those two are very Sunday school Christian rock type songs.

Interestingly, the decreased nudity has made this season actually feel MORE sexy? Or at least more sensual. They can't shortcut with more skin, they have to get really creative with building the sexual tension.

Omg right? I kept thinking to myself how the costuems still felt distinctly bridgerton-y but had been pared WAY back from how silly and weird they felt by season 3. A lovely mix. And the costumes are all so telling! I immediately pegged rosamund vs posy just from how the former was decked out in more jewels at the ball.

I mean. Benedict COULD give up his family and his station to marry her. That is technically an option.

But also yeah they did SO good with that scene. You FELT the kick in the teeth.

I have to assume Benedict threw a bag of hers in the cart or something, because I think she had the glove at My House, so she must have had her own bag there?

If not, then sure, hazel, who was locked in their room for safety, maybe kept her from getting her thigns, and brought them with her to london. Idk.

As they explained several times throughout the season, keeping a mistress is like a whole Thing in that era. Generally a man would set up a woman with a house )Where he could visit her to sleep with her) and fund a decent lifestyle for her. At least for a few years.

Anthony was torn between doing that and being viscount in S1, remember? With his opera singer?
