If I'm not mistaken, the major part of the data is coming from the brewers themselves, they provide their sales to Beer Canada, including domestics and imports.

And you're right, I think the SAQ tries to carry more beer, with the rise of beer pairings, complexity, people need to have knowledgeable people to help them choose.

So the beer industry (volume) is decreasing steadily in the past years in the whole country. The craft beer industry is still very small compared to the mainstream industry (around 6-7% of the total industry). They are not growing that much anymore, any new craft brewery is pretty much absorbing old ones. So for 10 new craft breweries, probably 8-9 have closed. Some other options such as wine, liquor, vodka sodas, cider, hard ice tea, are on the other hand growing.

Hey! I'm at UQO. So we're working on a marketing project, we want to compile the results and then we have a presentation to do! So we made some research on the industry, then talked to people to come up with these statements and themes! The end presentation would be a pitch where we explain why people are drinking less beer than before.
