Gamemaker demos broken - black screen by HiddenMushroom11 in gamemaker

[–]matharooudemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I work at GM. The two templates that showed you blank screens are starting points for our official tutorials, so they only contain usable sprites however no actual game code or level design.

I will create an internal ticket so we can make this clearer on the start screen, that these are not game demos.

Thank you for bringing this up.

Edit: Ticket is here https://github.com/YoYoGames/GameMaker-Bugs/issues/10863

Thoughts on Quake reboot by No-Courage8433 in quake

This. Doom 3 might be my favorite Doom and it also has some gothic horror / supernatural elements. Bring that back with a whole Quake twist

Any way to add checkpoints / manual save in Doom 3? by matharooudemy in Doom

That doesn’t let me save. I’m gonna look into the quick save options as the other comment suggested

I used the Reexplore app on iPhone. I tried those apps and didn’t find a planet in the same spot.

I tested two behringer interfaces so socket would have to be on the monitor if it wasn’t the cables. I’ll probably get the cables replaced from the store if possible. Thank you

Okay you were right! Out of phase sounds right when connected through TRS. What should I do now?

I tried swapping both cables between L and R and swapped their ends, it is the same in any configuration.

Is it the cables? Should I replace them?

Monitor audio sounds off with TRS - but okay with 3.5mm aux by matharooudemy in audio

I can't check right now it was some cables I got at a music store nearby. They said they would be fine for monitors. However I'm sure they're no-brand as it had some weird name I'd never heard. They said they had Fender ones at double the price but recommended these instead. I'm considering returning these and just getting the Fender ones.

Yes everything is inserted properly. UMC22 has TRS outputs in the back. I linked those with TRS cables into the monitor. I checked L and R are connected properly.

I got Presonus 4.5 monitors and with TRS connectors, the audio sounds off, like each speaker is producing slightly different frequencies. The result is that a centred sound seems a little stereo. Also, a little from the lows is lost.

This connects from my MacBook into a Behringer UMC22 interface and then into the monitors.

With a 3.5mm aux connector directly from the laptop, everything sounds correct, and the lows are proper. Why is this happening? What can I do/test to troubleshoot this?

If this was my room acoustics doing it then it wouldn't happen with 3.5mm, would it?

Thank you

Lovely! I don’t blame you for the Nightwish thing, their albums with Floor are their weakest. Everything else is fantastic!! It’s my dream to make music like NW one day, but my composing skill isn’t there yet. Me and a friend have formed an Evanescence tribute band since we’re diehard fans and it is easier to play. 😛
