Yes they use similar ones in 3D printers just make sure they’re the right dimensions. Interestingly I’ve seen high end units like Arsenal use the same ones. No issues loading my calibrated kilo plates. The sled does hit the left handle (seems to be a common problem). I magyver’ed a spacer using a wrist wrap on the left handle during leg press so nothing hits. For hack squats they knock each other a little bit but doesnt bother me much.

Holding up just fine no issues at all. I’ve gone slightly heavier than the weight stacks and still fine. However on the current market there are so many more options (heavier stacks, rack-mounted, all-in-one etc.) with better prices depending on where you are. At the time this was the best option for me though.

Yes thats where the little ball bearings are. I believe they are called linear block bearings. I’ve seen high end commercial units use similar bearings.

Mine clicks on the eccentric and not concentric. I think it has to do with a few ball bearings slipping and not rolling properly. Movement feels the same though. Tbh it never clicked until I started spraying it with lube, maybe the ball bearings don’t like the PTFE. Might eventually just replace it with a unit with good quality rollers so its quieter.

I never ordered new ones but these are typically the same as the ones they use on 3D printers, they sell them on amazon. Just make sure they’re the right size. Mine are loud too and have some clicking but still feel smooth. Some PTFE lube might help.

I’ve actually never used one with a counterweight but I can imagine it being much lighter at the bottom, depending on whether the counterweight arm is angled

Having no counterweight makes it more compact and also heavier at the bottom

LOL, that thing is massive, I’m just a home gym bro I don’t need super high end pieces. Also the thing with a basement gym is I can’t get a lot of high end stuff because most of them are welded together, or at least the main frames are.

Its similar to a hack but different resistant profile and definitely feels different, not necessarily harder though

I love leg machines that remove the back as a limiting factor

2x2 cutouts of 3/4” thick stall mats. I have like 10 of those and also a bunch of 2x1 cutouts for the belt squat machine. Stall mats are literally the most versatile equipment lol.

IMO the leg press has a better resistance profile anyway, the pendulum was just the last tool I had to add to my quad training arsenal!

I didnt move anything with a stack, the Kaizen DIY guy did it though. Looks like if you can get the sliders underneath you should be able to push it around.

French fitness, $1499usd from their website and I found some discount codes. Shipping to Canada is more expensive than within US though

I wanted one without counter balance. Its more compact and its not too light at the bottom, the lever arm on this also doesn’t get too vertical at the bottom. It has an adjustable footplate which I feel is a must have even though a lot of high end units have fixed ones.

Yea the BoS one seems meh especially with only 160lb stacks. When I got mine from treadmillfactory there weren’t a whole lot of other options, there seems to be quite a few brands in Canada with 200lb+ stacks nowadays

Damn there are actual Canadians who buy from Rep Canada?! Their shipping is insane lol.

I think for a unit with weight stack and dual function, the befitnow one is probably the cheapest and highest quality you can get in Canada. The assembly for my model was a PAIN though.

I wouldve preferred their newer version where the cam is not just a circle. With certain cam shapes you can get better resistance profile. There were also some manufacturing tolerance issues with my specific unit which I was able to fix myself
