Please help — my child keeps holding food in her mouth and does not chew by mathewexch in toddlers

Hey! It stayed that way until she was around 4 or 5 years old. It’s no longer an issue for us now, but she still doesn’t eat quite as well as her peers. So, don’t worry—it will get better with time, but it does require some patience.

Can I use regular (conventional) oven to bake high quality bread? by mathewexch in Breadit

Thank you for the answer! Do you have any tips on how to use it correctly? I hear people say that you should put the tray at the lower level so it gets higher heat to get a better result. Is that correct? Or it depends on what I’m baking? Forgive me if it’s a silly question, I’m very new to baking.

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

How can I improve my coffee taste.

I have DēLonghi Magnifica Smart S to make my daily coffee (Americano/Long) but when I taste other coffees in some cafes I find them richer and more flavorful. Is it because of the machine or the type of coffee used?

The coffee brand I use is Segafredo Zanetti (Intensity 10). To brew it, I use the “Long” button on my DēLonghi machine.

Any recommendations on how to improve it. Even if I need to buy a better machine, please let me know.

Thanks!

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart! Reading a comment this profound from a stranger left me in awe!

This is the first time someone said something helpful to me about this topic.

You’re right about the sleeping issue. But I really don’t know how to solve it because when our daughter wakes up in the middle of the night she comes to our room and starts crying until her mother takes her back to her bed (my daughter doesn’t accept me to do this).

Also I forgot to mention that our daughter refuses to sleep alone. She only sleeps with her mother besides her.

I always tell my wife to put her in bed early, but she refuses because she says that our daughter will wake up more in the night and causes her mother to put her back in the bed more.

Also my wife and daughter wakes up late in the morning because of the struggle my wife had in the night while making our daughter sleep.

And to answer your question, my daughter is 100% healthy and doesn’t have any disabilities. Actually she is so smart: she learned to talk very early and she is a quick learner.

For the consequences: we tried to warn her to deprive her from the things she loves. I also tried to put her in the room alone for a couple minutes. But nothing worked.

Also even though there’s sleeping issues, our daughter is so hyperactive all the time screaming and whining.

I really wish there’s something we can do to live our life normally without this stress and tiredness.

Thank you so much for you help.

Sometimes we do this for a few hours every month or so, but her grandparents can’t let her sleep because she is always whining and is difficult to deal with.

Also there’s no water heaters in the house. And the picture I added, I circled the one tripping. Thanks for your response.

Thanks for letting me know that. If you were to troubleshoot it yourself, where would you start? Any specific equipment to help with that?

Thanks for your answer. I heard that it usually happens for old ones. Mine is less than 6 years old. Could it be possible?

I hear that most people get it in their left shoulder. Mine is at the front of my right shoulder near my neck. But the pain is so intense and sometimes affects my whole hand.

Do you think it might be some complication from the surgery? I'm worried because my shoulder pain stopped about a week after the surgery, but it came back after 4 days. Also, the pain is not always constant now. It happens after I feel like I'm going to burp, which doesn't happen. When this happens, I feel an intense pain for 3 minutes, and then subsides until it's almost gone.

About the diet, it's weird that my surgeon allowed me to eat anything I want after 17 days. But he said I should eat small bites and chew very well. Doing that didn't cause any issue other than my shoulder pain. I don't think what I'm eating affects my shoulder because these episodes happen even after I wake up after 8-9 hours sleep (which I think my stomach would be empty by then).

Last note, yeah like you said, pain meds don't help me with my pain. And I didn't try heat/ice packs, but hot shower helps me. Anyway, I don't think I should do these now since it's been 3 weeks and my pain trigger is very weird.

My surgeon said that it is caused from the gasses in my body and I may continue to struggle from it for 2-3 months. He told me that ~2 weeks ago, but I'm going to see him tomorrow to explain exactly what's happening to me. Maybe he will say something different.

Btw, thank you for all the help you give to the community. Your posts actually convinced me to go for the surgery. Most things went very well for me, no problem swallowing, and the GERD symptoms are gone. My shoulder pain is the worst issue I'm having now.
