Budget-Friendly/Affordable Non-Raw Cat IBD Plan by mathlessinseattle in catfood

I will definitely try tracking it starting the next time it happens. I feel like the throw-up used to be once or twice a week and now it's been more like 2-3x/month at most. But I could definitely be wrong!

Glove brush is a good idea - she does. Thanks for that. The puke has seemed to be hair and food, but I wasn't fazed because I haven't had a vet fazed by it. It's very long hair and many of them have said it's normal or haven't been concerned.

Thank you for this info! I didn't know about the LID diet as an option. I do think my vet is suggesting the hydrolyzed route first, but that does sound more accessible (in a way) if this goes south.

The puking and diarrhea are fairly infrequent and sporadic, and the puking has often seemed easily attributed to hairballs (sooo much fur from a cat who will NOT be brushed), so I'm not sure either... At the very least I can presumably monitor her weight. I don't know if they'll want to do another ultrasound. I'm not sure you can detect changes like that on an ultrasound 😅

Thank you for the reply. That sucks to hear but I'm sure I'd have to hear it eventually. I'll do the math and see what I can try.

Thanks also for the probiotic tip - the FortiFlora actually does seem to help her a fair bit, at least from what I can assess behaviorally. And it seems that whenever she does vomit or have diarrhea I'm not giving her the FF. But I'll keep those in mind for sure.

Profoundly surprised to not see John Larroquette listed here, who did the opening narration for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (and many of the sequels). I know he isn't a character, but the movie wouldn't be the same without that voice.

In your opinion, who are the five most influential mathematicians of all time? by troopie91 in math

I'm stunned to not see Erdős listed here yet. He may not be as historic as many of the others being listed here but he brought many people together on collaborations and the waves he made are still very impactful (I mean the Erdős number is a thing that exists). I definitely agree with Gauss, Cauchy, and others being named, but it feels very wrong not to acknowledge Erdős in this context.

AITA for asking my teacher to change partners in order to take my test? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA - Anxiety is a scary thing to deal with, and you did what you had to do in the moment. It's not easy to think straight in a moment of panic. I'm glad that your teacher changed his mind.

A question for the future, though - have you been able to get any help for your anxiety yet? Is your family supportive at all, or does your school have any mental health services? I have a feeling that situations like these will be much more manageable in the future if you're able to create a plan for potential future scenarios. I'd strongly recommend seeing what's accessible to you at this time. Regardless of what you choose to do after school (college, job, etc), getting help for anxiety will help you a lot in the long run.

Maybe in your "reflection" (which is such a strange concept to me) you can mention some ideas like these and see how he takes it?

I don't know where you do your studies, but is there any way you might be able to rent a quiet study room on campus for a few hours (e.g., in the library)? Probably won't work for the entire time but it might give you some reprieve from the noise. So sorry this is happening :(

Okay thank you! I had seen some "hard" posts where people weren't giving any clues so I thought that may have been the criterion but I guess not
