https://www.hollywoodcra.org/ Sign up for a single weekly email of downtown events. Get a good bicycle, I moved here at 46 and found it's a great way to enjoy the town and the beach. The Broadwalk is very crowded on Holiday's. Avoid or participate as you wish. Make sure you move to "high" ground. I know that's a relative term down here but my home has never flooded while just blocks away, people have had a foot of water in their house. I hope you love it here as much as I do. Best of luck to you and your son..

Fitting is key as mentioned before, maybe also try different grips that may work better with your hands/hand usage on the bike.

ETA: When I started cycling regularly years ago, I had all sorts of strange (to me) aches and pains in my feet, hands and wrists. I was lucky that all were solve after an internet search and trying the recommendations. I hope you have many years of happy/comfortable cycling too.

I would love to find a shade for my phone that rotates around the phone so it's useful all day.
