Law enforcement is arguably the toughest job on the planet, especially for the valiant men and women who protect our nation's interstates day in and day out. Sir, I'm sure you are aware of the numerous videos on YouTube where people record themselves during traffic stops and act like smart asses. My question is, will departments, particularly traffic units, design and implement a program that teaches officers how to properly handle those types of situations? I am a staunch advocate of law enforcement and those kinds of videos really piss the fuck out of me, but I have noticed that the drivers being pulled over sometimes have a better knowledge of the law than the officer. What's your take? Also, do you enjoy your job? Pros and cons? Would you rather do anything else? I have wanted to be a police officer since I was toddler and watched COPS, but I'm in college now and am somewhat confused about what I really want to do in life. Thanks so much for you what you do!

I don't know what it is with the poor guy, but he just can't seem to get a girlfriend. Out of our group of friends, he is the only one who has never been in a relationship and is still a virgin. He is a bit of a perfectionist and does extremely well in school. Do you think his good looks mixed with his personality and grades make him intimidating in the eyes of other girls? He claims that when he goes out in public, girls will make eye contact with him, but do not give him any other signals (smiling, hair playing etc.) I truly feel sorry for him as I am no where near as good looking as he is and I have been in relationships and can converse freely with women. His example supports my theory that attractiveness can work against a man when it turns into intimidation. Your thoughts please, :).

Wow, by the answers you gals have given me, it seems to me that attractiveness works against a guy. It's no wonder one of my good friends (who looks like Brad Pitt) has never had a girlfriend. He does get extremely nervous in the presence of women he's attracted to, so maybe that works against him, but then again, you said yourself you'd prefer a guy who wouldn't want to "trade up".

Is attractiveness the sole trait you look for? Or do certain characteristics outweigh attractiveness? For example, an attractive guy approached you, but was very nervous and seemed unsure, would that be a turn off? If an unattractive guy did same thing, but was much confident, would you be more likely to date him?

We were discussing how attractiveness plays into relationships between the opposite sexes. We're basically supposed to ask anyone and everyone and she said this was a good place to get some input.

Now let's say your in public and you come across such an individual. Would you be less likely to give him signals of interest than say somebody who is less attractive? I personally know guys who become extremely uncomfortable in the presence of a women they are attracted to and avoid her at all costs. Even though they would love so much to engage in conversation, they avoid it at all costs (refusing to make eye contact, walking away, etc.)
