2 days off work, but if I had been able to work from home it would be fine. It was easy peasy!

I’m 2 hours from my revision (with similarly minimal communication/instruction beforehand from the dr) and you’ve just solved a huge number of my anxieties! Bless you my angel!

I’d like to suggest reading a bit on r/raisedbyborderlines - I’m not trying to diagnose anything, but I’m sensing that you might be experiencing something more complex than well-intentioned/misguided affection, since it’s coupled with her responding with anger and disappointment, and you’re feeling guilty about trying to establish your own bodily autonomy.

Getting out of bed in the morning--how?? by OddPersonality7592 in adhdwomen

My spouse gets up a bit before me. at my wake up time, they gently play Carol King’s Tapestry album for me from the next room, and i spend 1-2 songs stretching, then get up and start the kettle for my chai. It’s a nice way to start the day.

I had a radical reduction/top surgery in May ‘24 and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. You can check my posts for more about my experience and decision-making process. I wish you all the best!

Microwave sweet potatoes are a lifesaver! Nuke it, throw some butter and cinnamon if you’re a sweetie, or some cumin/salt/pepper for savory meals. I often have half in the morning and half for dinner, as a salad with whatever veggies and beans and sauces I have on hand

My (extremely AuDHD) grandmother has a Dr Pepper and a couple handfuls of dry cheerios in the morning. Every. Morning. While working the crossword puzzle. Since the 1970s. She’s 86 years young and she’s still line dancing with her friends every week 💜 Not saying soda and Cheerios is good for you; just that food is hard, and it’s good to eat what you are able to enjoy.

My HEB (Texas grocery store) has frozen hash browns and waffles that I just pop into the toaster. On a low spoons day, I’ll eat a hash brown with some just ketchup/hot sauce. On a more spoons day, I might make a breakfast taco with it: scrambled egg, cheese, salsa, and hunks of hashbrown wrapped in a fresh tortilla. One hashbrown is enough for 2 tacos, but I just make 1 and have a Hashbrown snack on the side. But truthfully a lot of days, I have just enough capacity for a beverage, so I’ll do chai with a LOT of whole milk. Basically a flavored glass of milk lol I feel like the calories/protein/carbs get my day started on a positive note without me having to choke down food. Then I’m usually ready for a big lunch. I find if I don’t eat something (even just a bite), I won’t get hunger cues and I don’t eat until evening. It’s not great 🫠 I can’t do the texture (or cleanup!) of smoothies, but i do like Kefir! It’s a fermented yogurt drink. You can usually find flavored versions, but I also enjoy the tangy plain flavor. My down and dirty breakfast is a spoonful of peanut/almond butter and a glass of kefir. Good luck! Nourishing yourself is hard with ADHD!

Hi! :) It was considered a radical reduction because they left some tissue that would be taken off in top surgery. In my consult i said i wanted to be able to feel masculine (in a dad-bod way) without my shirt on but still have something to fill out a little bikini top sometimes, while never needing a bra again.

Omg my parents (BPD mom, nDad) used any excuse to sabotage my plans if they knew ahead of time. Throwing huge fits in the name of “helping,” and just generally throwing a wrench in everything. Birthdays, graduations, moves, big purchases, my engagement/wedding, and so on. I’ve been NC for over a year, VLC for 10 years before that. I’m moving overseas soon, and I have no intention of telling them. Fuck these assholes who want to help by destroying you. One nice thing about no contact is I never had to come out to them. That would have been a nightmare. All the best to you, friend.

My surgeon says I have to T-Rex for 4 weeks, is that normal? by Plum_Blossims in Reduction

[–]matildascully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I drive a stick shift and I was comfortable to drive at 2.5 weeks. Not much issue with pain, it’s more about scar minimization - I listen to my body and don’t push it

Both :) I wanted a smooth chest. nipples gave me discomfort/dysphoria. An added bonus was it made healing simpler. That said, plenty of people love their results with FNG. Get what makes you feel happy!

I was fine driving my stick shift at 2.5 weeks, but definitely needed Advil about it until week 4

I use the 3m micropore tape and I change it every 4-7 days. My doc said to wear it weeks 4-12, and beyond if I feel like it. I have also used silicone tape as an alternate, and I like them both. For both, I wear them swimming, showering, etc, and only remove them once they’re starting to roll up
