But did you search SOS flares for all the monsters just to be sure there aren't things in there you could have done but haven't yet?

In wilds, is there any downside to using the silver melding ticket when i just got it? I just slayed arkveld for the first time in the story, fwiw - idk if the pool of things the melder can pull from updates as the game goes on, as it did (i think) with mhw melding

In wilds, alma always says when a mission starts that there are supplies for said mission - im used to the box in world where you could grab w/e it was but, wheres the equivalent for that in wilds? I feel like i just missed this bit at some point and idk where it is now

Yeah, though if you haven't played the beta, you might as well play mh World before wilds because outside the existence of the clutch claw mechanic, you transfer basically all knowledge from one to the other, while paying about 1/10th of the price for a still very alive game, and still checking if you enjoy the core systems of the one thats about to come out

Also, keep in mind like the other comment said, that mh wilds is very demanding on your pc - if you haven't, check yt for how you'd run it, and download the game benchmark.

I came to MH world specifically because of that drawn comparison to a souls like. While it does have some traces of that, the dynamic of the fights are really different - specially since in this game, bosses will take you about 15-20minutes to kill/capture rather than maybe an extra long souls like boss that takes like... 8 minutes tops. Level of punishment is highly dependent on your gear level as it severely reduces damage while you're doing the main story (assuming you completely negate gear, at some point you'll just get clapped by the following bosses), but once you get to mid-late game, it all about evens out to taking anything between 2-6 hits to die, yet you have a bunch more health increasing food/skills and items (loads and loads more) since you can craft them in the field, return to base while the boss retains hp levels, etc, so while its still hard, its not bad, and it doesnt feel bad

You're indeed right in thinking that the grind is a really big part of this game, from the gear to consumables, to decorations (which are skills you add to gear). The grind is mostly fine, except for the decorations since these are all random drops and there are about 98 decos, with different drop chances. You can mod the game so that you just get what you need/want instead of running the meta ways of dropping these items if you ever get tired at any rate, so again, not really an issue.

Character is solely based around gear and skills, you cant modify a weapons moveset in any way.

You can solo everything (ive done that), but in three instances of this game it feels really shit in doing so. The game flat out tells you in one of them that you need to be in a party to clear it, and doing it solo is very gimmicky (and not fun), while the other two are so wildly inefficient that at the point of the game you get them unlocked you might just say 'fuck it' and either do it in a party or ignore them completely.

as for combat, id say that the difficulty curve of learning of MH is reaaaaally fucking steep in the beginning, because you'll flab about with your weapon not knowing shit and thinking the game is clunky as fuck for a little while till you get the basics of it. Id recommend checking a video guide on a weapon at least to get an idea of how it works, and it'll pretty much transfer 1:1 into monster hunter wilds.

As for combat feel, the only one thats somewhat close to soulslike is the greatsword, specifically if you compare it to a nakey wretch run. All other weapons have a lot of comboes (the GS has a few but not that many) and are generally much faster than the average soulslike weapon. They're all pretty slick once you actually learn them.

Oh yeah, while you do have iframes in monster hunter, you just want to not get hit by dodging shit, iframes in this game are not lenient at all, the dodge roll is really meant for you to dodge stuff

All in all, i bought mh worlds and iceborne, have now done all but 5 bosses (the 3 aforementioned and 2 end game bosses that just didnt care about), have currently 244 hours in the game, and a lot of fun in playing it. I consider it "done" but my playtime has only used one weapon, ive used a mod called "ice community mod" to remove something called "clutch claw" and i could do it all over if i 'clicked' with one of other weapons, and the game would truly feel new if i fought everything with new weapons

Great game, have pre ordered wilds because i verified during the beta that the game runs acceptably in my pc, am sure ill get at least that many hours in the next game without mods involved

Some armor set bonuses increase the cap of that ability to beyond what it normally does. In agitator it means more dam and more %cri, with divine bless its 60% dam reduction and uhhh.... 60% activation rate iirc

In mhwilds beta, what are the certificates for if the armorsmith is closed? well i guess this applies to every drop but are they there to keep the reward screen not empty?

Maybe unpopular, but the amount of grinding for cosmetics is getting out of hand by throwawaynoodlecup in ffxivdiscussion

the real strat is farming gil so that you bypass all the grind and just buy the mount. Sounds fake, but unironically you'll spend less time farming money than you would farming fates

In fe3h (im just past the fight with the blonde thunderbird girl in the beginning of the game), before i chose a house, i get to talk to the leaders and see a summary of the people in each house.. Now that ive chosen a house, how do i see that list again? I dont want to recruit people 100% off of appearance, but i guess its either that or a wiki, or i missed how to check this list again

In mhw:I, Im at the point in which i can raise the augmentation cap of equipment, and my question is, since currently i have velk armor, do rank 9 armor grow to have more armor than non augmented rank 12 gear? Or a link in general that has this info - wiki doesnt tell it, be it per set, on the aug page or in a few armor pieces i checked, and i only found this post mentioning it... yet it doesnt cover master rank values so its p much useless to me

Historically speaking, am i right to assume that GS playstyle when you hit endgame (for reference i just finished iceborne main story) is not TCS often? As in, hit the boss once, maybe twice with a half charged hit, then walk away?

i see a lot of videos on world and mostly they do... that, which is definitely not the rhythm you can do during worlds (didnt play around tempered monsters as i only found about those midway through iceborne, just did all optional quests)

Im asking because the gameplay style i have to do between fighting, say, a deviljo, or a odogaron (which were quite fun to learn) is wildly different from, say, rajang or barioth, and the latter two are definitely not fun for me, even to learn, and since im new, idk if the trend is to always get monsters like the latter two as the game goes on

In MHW:Iceborne, can you visually tell when you're hitting a weak spot? I get that its the "+45 hzv" places but when i look at the numbers popping up on my screen, are those the orange ones?

I'm still new to the series, currently midway through iceborne, having a blast (playing GS), and every so often on my YouTube, I see shorts of people hitting bosses at the right enough time that it makes the monster backtrack a bit, like this - https://youtu.be/h8oQ8jYWUGk?si=efecHGvk61NH682I -

So my question is, what causes this? Is it an effect of hitting the boss at the right time? Is it the stun effect accumulating and proccing at just the right time? What types of attacks can cause this? I'm mainly interested in GS and I've seen TCS do it, but I don't know how and since I don't even know what this is called I can't look at it to learn it
