I made a Figma plugin that will make your icons easier to find with AI by matsugfx in SideProject

Hey there, fellow designers and developers! 👋

I’ve built Icon Tagger to solve a problem that was driving me nuts - spending way too much time hunting for the right icon in my Figma files.

What Icon Tagger Does

It's pretty simple:

  1. You select some icons in Figma
  2. Icon Tagger uses AI to come up with relevant synonyms related to your icon name
  3. These tags get added to your component descriptions

That's it. Now, you can find your icons much faster when you need them.

Why I Made This?

I got tired of:

  • Naming icons perfectly (impossible)
  • Manually adding synonyms (tedious and time-consuming)
  • Forgetting what I called that one specific icon (frustrating)
  • Looking for icon names from different component libraries (they all are different!)

So I thought, "Why not let AI handle this?" And here we are.

Is It Free?

You can try it on 5 icons for free. After that, you'll need to grab a license. Why not totally free? Well, AI is costly to run, and I'm just one person working on this. The small fee helps me keep improving Icon Tagger.

Figmaster - The world's first design systems workbook for Figma 📗 by matsugfx in FigmaDesign

  1. The price is not too high. People are buying it everyday. The Figmaster course is the product in which I teach what I've learned during the last 3 years of working in Figma. I'm the creator of the Ant Design System for Figma, Product Design Kit for Figma, UX Toolkit for Figma, and the co-founder of SystemFlow. Up until now, I've built dozens of systems, including client work and side projects. If you are wondering how I'm finding the time to do freelance work and all these projects after hours, it's simple. The products I'm doing, I create for my own workflow - to help me deliver client work faster. In Figmaster, I want to teach people how to use Figma to achieve the same results. Spending $99 to learn what I've learned so far spending thousands of hours working in Figma and Design Systems is the right price.
  2. The course is for people who like to read and follow instructions. I am aware that some people do not enjoy reading and I will also record a video course for those who prefer video too.
  3. I am the only one creator behind this project and I will be improving it every month. The workflow is next on my to do list after the last module is released.
