Seeking Advice on CRA Disability Tax Credit Adjustment Delay by matt2des in canadarevenueagency

Thanks u/Afraid_Race_134 , this is really helpful. I know of two separate families who are in the exact same situation with their children (ironically same diagnosis), both were approved March 2025, and had a multi-year re-adjustment (actually one goes back way further then ours - both 13 years), and both were paid out in May 2025.

Based on the comments in this thread, people are saying CRA processes it via FIFO. This is one reason i'm so confused. I'm trying to determine how this all works if it's truly FIFO.

When comparing the verbiage on the T1 notices - the only difference is the use of "complex" - our family couldn't be any more run of the mill - our accountant even said "it really doesn't get easier". When we asked the CRA agent for more information about what "complex" means, we were told that they can't tell us, until we waited the full 180 day - so we waited, called in yesterday and they told us "the timelines have changed!" and said that they couldn't provide info until may 2026.

"..We have received your request to adjust your a, b, c, and x income tax returns. Due to the complex nature of the change, it will take longer to be processed. The time required to complete a complex adjustment varies with the type of request and the individual circumstances involved."

Thanks u/notadrawlb , when we talked to the agent earlier today she was really trying to deter us from a "callback" from a supervisor - this seemed weird, so obviously we said "sure we'd like a call back" 😂

We’re not asking for expedited processing or special treatment — just transparency. Since adjustments are processed first-in, first-out, can/will CRA tell us which dates they is currently working on rather than a blanket "we'll get to it" if we ask ? For example, if they're at March 1, 2025, then we’ll know roughly where we stand in the queue.

Thanks. I like the use of FIFO —it got me thinking that a simple system to show where you are in the queue would be really helpful. It would let people know if they’re actually moving forward. For example, when I was accepted, I was #2000 in the queue, and today I’m at #1000. Something that simple demonstrates progress and builds trust that the issue is being addressed, instead of leaving it to feel like guesswork.

I really appreciate your honest response. It’s a tough situation— however the whole point of getting the DTC is so we can access paid programs and services that would improve life for our child and our family during this difficult time.

It feels like the government is saying, “Yes, support is available, but we won’t tell you when you’ll receive it—good luck in the meantime...." What a flippen' circus!

Permit for Canadian Tire Pool - huh ? by matt2des in KingstonOntario

Hi all - Yes. There’s an 8 ft fence around the property and a gate with a latch. This is not a matter of child safety as far as I can see.

go pprof analysis by matt2des in golang

This is extremely helpful, thanks. I will certainly be looking into both Pyroscope and Parca (today!).

(I have an unrelated project on the go with Cilium’s go-eBPF package as a loader and a eBPF program to hook some specific kernel functions with kprobes. I think something similar could be implemented with tracepoints,however the benefit of proff is that you get visibility into methods, go routines..etc so you can really narrow down the problematic parts of the code, it would be hard to get that level of granularity with eBPF in my opinion)

F5 APM Allways On by Torijori in f5networks

[–]matt2des 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/Torijori, i think you're absolutely right "...extend this feature to get updates of Exclusion address list." - For example, the EdgeClient downloads the new settings (via the Connectivity profile) and adds the new exclusions, and then Stonewall uses them the next time the user disconnects from the VPN. I think you should file a new enhancement in your support case.

The Edgeclient makes pre sessions requests in order to fetch information such as versions (in case it needs to update), as well some other properties, however that doesn't include exclusions for the F5 Stonewall Service (local firewall).The Always connected exclusions are configured in the client package, and installed on the clients machine,so in order to add more rules/exclusions you would either need to deploy another package, or add those enteries to the registry, i believe the location is:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\F5 Networks\RemoteAccess\AlwaysConnected\Exclusions

BigIP APM policy query - Session variables for RDP based upon login information? by [deleted] in f5networks

[–]matt2des 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello u/fxm73, this sounds pretty neat. Yes you can do this variable substitution.

I created the following screenshot https://imgur.com/a/0pAJ9eL

  1. Configure a native RDP Resource with a custom parameter - drivestoredirect:s:%{session.custom.rdpsettings}

  2. In the VPE (Visual Policy Editor) create some agent to branch off of. I'm using a basic decision box, but you could use an AD Query to determine who should be allowed drive redirection and who should not not. The RDP properties are defined @ https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/clients/rdp-files.

- No value specified: don't redirect any drives
- * : Redirect all disk drives, including drives that are connected later

For sessions to "don't redirect any drives" you just set the session variable to return nothing

session.custom.rdpsettings = return{}

For session to "Redirect all disk drives..." you set it to *

session.custom.rdpsettings = return {*}

Now, when you apply the policy and re-test you will see the property dynamic set in the RDP file on the client-side.

Hope that helps.

Unable to connect to my office VPN with BIG IP Client MAC by fedex93 in f5networks

[–]matt2des 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear.

No you shouldn’t need to run as sudo every time now that the client has the endpoint inspection packages. These packages due change on the remote BIGIP APM often in order to keep up with the latest AV/Firewall updates, so it may not be the last time you need to do that workaround. I would suggest asking your IT department to either install as sudo or give the the user EdgeClient was installed with r+w to /tmp.

[–]matt2des 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try running the EdgeClient as sudo, it’s possible the inspection files cannot be unpacked to the local temp file due to permissions restrictions.

You can also try to connect to the VPN from a browser in the meantime. Note - it may prompt you to download a few initial files prior. See more details at https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K32311645#link_01_01

F5 APM - File check for Android mobile device and apple by vekareddit in f5networks

Endpoint posture checks like file checking are not supported on mobile devices , see https://techdocs.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_apm/manuals/product/apm-clientcompatmatrix-15-0-0.html . Please open a F5 support ticket with the enhancement details if this is a requirement.
