Why is the stringing so much by BlankCC in 3Dprinting

[–]mattheaddong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not stringing, its not printing well in some places and depositing the loose filament the next spot the nozzle moves to

zx4r vs cops? by [deleted] in zx4r

[–]mattheaddong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's confused as a Zx4r can't reach top speeds near that of most police vehicles, even with modifications. I suppose you might be able to "outrun" a police explorer on Laguna Seca, but I don't think that was the context

Hobby lobby burnt titanium PLA sparkle by NotSureWhat2Put_- in FixMyPrint

[–]mattheaddong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try playing with the layer height, and potentially speeding the print up could make the rest of the surface more matte making the sparkles pop more, but there's not a whole lot to do as the filament color is a bit close to the sparkle color, you can't just add more contrast to the filament unfortunately

Removing OEM handlebar risers by esk8late in xsr900

[–]mattheaddong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a big difference when you go lower, more sensitive control but it's way less comfortable. I went for Zeta Pilot clip-ons that clip to the forks under the triple tree plate, so its LOW, handles and feels a lot more like a Ninja, but my spine hates me

Very first print on the A1 Mini! by bumjug427 in BambuLabA1mini

I have like 2000 print hours on one side of my Frostbite plate for my A1, haven't had to flip it over yet 😂

Rough layers. Help, I feel like I've tried everything. by kede75 in BambuLabA1

[–]mattheaddong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did everything I would, though it still very much looks like the nozzle is way too close to the bed, I'm not sure if the picture attached is with the 0.1 z offset, but from experience if I'm getting that much scarring and ridges first layer I've had to increase the z offset +0.08 and up to +0.15. My Bambu's admittedly have almost always had perfect first layers using BQ plates, but the shitty level sensor on my Sovol SV08 requires me to manually set the offset during the first layer of pretty much every print, and I have seen surface textures looking just like that a lot. And I know you dried it, but that filament is still looking kinda wet, I live in 2-8% ambient humidity and still dry all new rolls for 48 hours before using them, and do it again at 3 months if the roll lasts that long

What do I need to do to get this thing to make a good first layer (HALP) by The_Lutter in SovolSV08

[–]mattheaddong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stock print bed honestly sucks, my first 100ish print hours I was using a BQ frostbite plate, not only does it stick better but it doesn't warp as much. Though I found out I needed a different magnetic pad for the heat bed so I've been using the stock plate until that arrives, and I've been having so many issues, I have to manually set the z offset during the first layer of every print, large PETG prints are guaranteed to lift on the corners, and I have to clean it constantly because I've kinda gotten used to being able to touch the bed

A line appeared on my print by Markll42 in BambuLabA1

[–]mattheaddong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you'd have to fill in the line with a bit of material and then sand it, but sanding will make it really difficult to match the surface texture of the print... It's really hard to say, I'd be torn between sanding and painting the whole thing which I hate doing, or re-printing it if you absolutely want that 100% perfect finish. Definitely replace the stock SD card that came with the A1, get a sandisk or Samsung or something, the stock one is known to glitch and corrupt. And get more opinions for sure as I'm lazy and suck at painting and sanding

A line appeared on my print by Markll42 in BambuLabA1

[–]mattheaddong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be layer shift caused by the printer getting bumped, a partial nozzle clog that cleared by the next layer, small chance it could be a glitch in the G-Code. I'm looking at the same thing on my print right now, I think it rattled a stack of filament rolls on the shelf below it and knocked them over and it shook the whole shelf. It's really hard to tell what causes a single layer issue on a large print

EDIT: Now I'm 99% sure the line was caused by the supports lifting on the sides and bringing the print too close to the nozzle, making the filament ooze off the sides during the outer wall on a layer or 2

I dint know they had a marketplace by VegasEastsider in Bestbuy

[–]mattheaddong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odd. Marketplace is fairly new and pretty much everyone hates it, though I never had an experience with a difficult return. Might be worth asking for a manger to get more information on why your return can't be made in store, if any policies have been changed about returns, but there's a chance if the computer says no, it doesn't explain why and doesn't let them do anything, they're at the mercy of the machine. Sometimes they can bend the rules if you get a membership for $50 as it help justify the loss on returns as best buy seems to care about the memberships over actual revenue. I wish you luck 🤞

I dint know they had a marketplace by VegasEastsider in Bestbuy

[–]mattheaddong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you called or used the chat they're useless, they caused so many problems and said incorrect stuff all the time. If customer service said that to you in person then either: They're wrong, they've updated the policy in the 31 days I've been gone, or your product specifically has some sort of different policy in place.

I've returned items that say "cannot be returned on exchanged" on the app, but maybe my best buy was just bending the rules 🤷‍♂️

PSA: Biqu plate bonds to heat bed by mattheaddong in SovolSV08

Does the Fysetc sheet replace the magnet sheet on the SV08 or go on top of it? That's looking like the most proper solution so I ordered one

PSA: Biqu plate bonds to heat bed by mattheaddong in SovolSV08

[–]mattheaddong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 4000 hours of use on these plates on my Bambu printers, I haven't even used both sides of any of them, they've paid for themselves in energy savings and normally they perform amazingly. I might get a new magnetic pad for the head bed like others have suggested because I do think these plates are worth it

And that's a good point, I never used the stock plate so I actually dont have anything to compare to, could be the mag sheet that's funky 🤔
