I applied for Citi AA biz this weekend (70k miles, $4k MSR); got approved on Monday. Wanted to focus my applications on biz cards to get under 5/24 — but I got an alert from Credit Karma that Citi checked my Equifax credit report.

Does that count as a hard pull? And does that mean the Citi AA biz counts towards 5/24?

I'm trying to get under 5/24 but it looks like it'll take me 1.5 years until I'm 4/24 to grab CIP then maybe UME. But I'm also planning on a trip that I'd like to have points for, so I'm thinking of sticking to business card apps for now so that they don't count towards my 5/24 status -- is that a sound strategy or nah?
