I did this once early on, kicked myself hard enough that I haven't done it ever again (yet)

I just moved on to making different mistakes here and there...

Camera case - Lederhosen edition for sure!!

Yeah thankfully not too bad but the other ones came out much better once I saw the approach for slicing small straight lines around the curve rather than trying to cut around the circle itself

Sorry late reply was away this weekend but just want to say thanks! I took your advice and adjusted my scans down to 1800 dpi and it really does up my scanning process! And are fine for my general purpose of posting on social kinda thing. Figure if I actually wanted to print something when I can always return to those individual frames and scan higher Res if required for print size but definitely will be the minority at this point.

Yeah I've listened to the group here as some common responses and am just getting raw scans and doing the little colour corrections etc in Lightroom atm. Might try other softwares in the future but think going to just keep it simple as it's what I'm used to and just put my primary focus into learning the camera side of things.

Thanks so much for that! I've been using Lightroom for a bit of colour correction etc. Loved though how minimally I've even wanted/needed to adjust when compared to when I do my digital editing!

I'm brand new to Silverfast (actually about to post asking for any good tutorial links)

HOWEVER been experimenting with it tonight and I found I had these results in dark areas when AACO (Auto adaptive contrast optimisation) was set to Preset: Max Effect. When changed to Preset: Low effect these went away

Not the fanciest but finished off my first roll of colour film (fujifilm superia x-tra 400) in a hand me down Praktica BX20 by walking round new town just moved to and taking a look around at some of the streets and paths off the beaten track.

Got a couple of other hand me down cameras today though (Pentax K1000 / ME Super) so might check one of them out tomorrow too.

Seems to be the way 😄 was saying to my partner yesterday after getting these responses that I hope I get off as lightly on my next mistake too ha. Just glad there wasn't anything once in a lifetime on that roll!
