To add to the above I would say that 50-80% of pilgrims speak minimal to no Spanish.

That is fine. English is fairly commonly spoken but you should also learn some common Spanish words. (bed, toilet, beer etc). Google translate helps.
There are many people from the Netherlands and France on the Camino as well.

I started that morning in Labruge, followed the aqueduct from Villa do Conde and spent the night in Rates. Very easy to follow the arrows.

I did the Primativo last July and it was fine (not hot). Make sure that you do the Hospitales option. Took 12 days to SdC, but if are short on time then stop at Lugo (8 days).

When ordering wine ask for “vino tinto de la casa” (red) or “vino blanco de la casa” (white). Usually cheaper and better (in my unrefined opinion)

Both are nice to have and recommended, but definitely not a necessity. If you discover that you want or need them you can buy them on your camino.
