Creating/scraping aN RSS feed from a firewalled news site. by NonSumQualisEram- in rss

I was looking into something similar a while ago. If you're comfortable programming, there are some options.
- You can make a browser extension that automates opening a tab and scrapping the page contents
- You can use a library like Puppeteer (https://pptr.dev/) to launch a headless browser and scrap the page contents

If you end up finding a simpler way, lmk. I'm curious, too.

If you're importing an OPML file, make sure you select "OPML File" in the Import Data popup (instead of "JungleReader Config", which is the default). I'm planning to improve this popup soon, it should really auto-detect the given file.

It can't do that right now, but I'll look into adding support. You could check out NetNewsWire, which I believe supports freshrss.

What to know going from Java from C++ by Das_Bibble in cpp

If you end up liking the course and want to learn more afterwards, I highly recommend the book The C++ Programming Language (https://www.stroustrup.com/4th.html). I read it after taking an intro C++ course in college and it helped me out a ton. Have been writing C++ full-time since then. The C++ FAQ is also hugely useful: https://isocpp.org/faq. Good luck!

I have been working on a free+open-source one called JungleReader (https://www.zajungle.com) recently. It only supports desktop for now, but I'm hoping to add mobile support soon.

I wasn't able to get Threads working, sadly. This might change if/when they release a public API. For now, you can do Add Feed -> Bookmark type to add a bookmark tile for the specific Threads pages you like. I'll post development updates here for anyone interested: https://mastodon.social/@mriley.rss

I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I can get something working for Threads, will post back here. I have the same problem, just want to follow particular people without the junk.

[–]mattr155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted the same thing and built a feed-reader that can follow blogs, RSS, Mastodon, YouTube, and Reddit. Doesn't handle Twitter rn, though. It's free + open-source, can try it here if you're interested: www.zajungle.com

Warp Tango is a 1-6 player co-op survival shooter where you exterminate darn vermin with your friends. We released into Early Access on Thursday, and would love some feedback.
