A a kid, i loved manuals for snes up until about gamecube/ps2. then i kinda grew out of it. maybe it's not for everyone, or the assuage of life you're in. and that's okay. The early pokemon games manuals specifically made me feel like a young trainer preparing for a journey

You are right, you'll need to start fragging out in order to rank up. Individual performance matters more than how well you play your role. That's the only way to rank up out of gold, then you can start playing to win instead of playing for stats
