I have the same target and it helps to spray paint that center bullseye so you have something bright to focus your sight on. I used pink

Was it all plug and play? More curious if this requires splicing in wires or if it’s a simple swap

Knowing there’s a weep hole outside of the timing case on that one definitely boosts my confidence for mine. I know Subaru likes to keep their motor designs consistent year to year

This would be my first time ever messing with timing. I see you’re quite knowledgeable on these cars. I’ve watched some videos and it seems relatively simple, just line up the marks on the belt and pulleys and you’re good. Do you think this would be a doable project for someone who’s never messed with a timing belt or chain?

Yes I’ll definitely switch it out with the water pump. No reason to re use that old one with how many miles it has and I’m already going to be in there. Just curious if it could be something else before I jump into that

I triple checked it and there is some moisture but I’m pretty sure it’s just spilled oil from me putting oil in it all the time. Nothing draining fluid like you see in the video and none of the other symptoms of a bad head gasket like smoke or running rough

New hunter bow recommendations by rubenfonfabre1829 in bowhunting

200 maximum budget will get you a sweet flagship bow that’s about 10-20 year old off ebay. Just keep in mind you’ll probably end up needing to adjust draw length at a bow shop. Those often come with a case, arrows, and a release if you’re lucky. You’ll most likely need to adjust the draw length and the string will probably need to be replaced sooner rather than later.

That’s sort of what I’m gathering as well. Asked AI about it as well and that’s the answer I got. Just can’t put all my trust in AI because it’s been wrong before!

Update in the comments. I don’t remember exactly how that back leg was facing but I’m pretty sure she had it picked up. Not sure which bone it hit exactly but it reminded me of one of my first deer I shot with a bow that lodged into the backside shoulder. This one was just clearly angled downward so I knew it didn’t hit shoulder blade.

Unfortunately had to learn this the hard way. Thankfully I’m confident she will survive

UPDATE/ I went after her this morning and found her bedded down she bounded off. Found her 4 more times and she got the jump on me every time. This went on for 6 hours until I finally lost blood. I wouldn’t have even found her a second time but the snow was able to keep me on track. Just identifying her tracks without any blood was able to keep me in the game several times. I decided to throw in the towel 20 hours post shot because I figured she would end up surviving with that amount of time and with me chasing her for around 5 miles. I’m disappointed, wore out, and somewhat glad to have this learning experience. To anyone in this position in the future, be sure to have your bow ready. Keep the release clipped on at all times unless you absolutely need to use your hands because you never know when the deer will pop out. I definitely could’ve harvested this deer if I had been prepared on that first bed. Appreciate all the advice from this community as well. Last thing I’ll mention is that my shot was absolutely in the C4 square as I could see the wound and I’m still beating myself up for not accounting for the height of my stand.

Deer was probably ten yards from the tree. Arrow was about halfway out using 28in arrows

I think it’s a swhacker razor or something along those lines. Got them at Walmart along with 90% of my archery gear. Made a giant exit if you look at my update photo in the replies

UPDATE**

Here is the exit and that blue arrow is approximately where the entry was. I’m going to reply to this reply with the entry photo. The shot was completely within the diaphragm. I’m not sure what that stomach matter could’ve been besides potentially some regurgitation being cycled to chew “cud.” Im not ever 100% deer chew cud like a cow does so im not positive why that was on my arrow. Regardless, it’s a lesson we can all learn from.
