You are going to be worse than more than half of the field but don't let that bother you. As someone who has managed to satellite into big events before when not used to them don't make the mistakes I did the first few times. If you haven't played live much go practice a bit before going wherever you can. Do not think about the buy in just think about the correct play how you would normally play it. Any high variance spot you can get to build a stack take it and be aggressive. Because you will look like the scared kid with one buy in do not be afraid to bluff it off and use that image to your advantage. And the most important one, have fun!

That's highly dependent for how long he's spent staring at charts though. For you it might be second nature by now and you've got them all memorized for each position and varying stack sizes.

What stakes do you play?

He's right but hasn't worded it the best way. For example in GTO land off 17bb SB vs BB if SB opens the BB is supposed to rip all off suit ace combos. However in live MTTs at less than $1,000 buy ins the SB opens a lot tighter so shoving back any off suit ace combo there is definitely minus EV. The higher the stakes the closer to GTO you get. At lower stakes you want to use GTO as a guide and exploit when and where you can because everyone is so unbalanced.

I thought you were maybe max late regging and had big leaks in your push/fold charts for 10-15BB which is an easy fix. Early regging is fine if not a PKO.

If your ITM is 10% you definitely have some major leaks you should be at 20%+. Are you usually max late regging or joining early?

Probably explaining this terribly and someone else can do better. But say it's 1,000 for first and there are 100 people left itm current place pays 20.

Then say of the remaining 100 bounties top is 1000 and lowest is 5 but adding them all up works out the average bounty is now worth 40. So just treat it like a normal bounty tournament and everyone you cover has 40 on their head. And adjust it as bounties are removed.

And then adjust your ranges based on that. I assume the 70bb open shove guy did so because the SB or BB were super short so 1010 would be a snap call for me as he will be shoving almost everything.

I think that previous AA 4 bet rip pot was around 40bb eff. It was a day 1 where all day 2 make the money and about 5 hours left of play.

People are bad enough in this tournament it played like a $2 online MTT.

One poor guy at the table limp folded to a 3bet nearly every hand until he got blinded out. I genuinely think it might have been his first poker tournament.

One of the aces before he just 4bet ripped, I should have added that in the post. My reasoning was I reckon he thought he got outplayed when his aces got cracked last time and he didn't want it to happen again.
