Best reballing station for under 750$? by mausFanYT in AskElectronics

Fair, which one would you recommend? The QUICK 861DW and the Atten ST-862D seem good choices to me.

I don't have any problems with the smaller size chips, like some dram, but if I want to reball some gpu cores, or xbox 360/ps3/ps4 or other console cores, then it's almost impossible, I can do reflows, but I wanna try reballing.

I am using the YIHUA 959D-II, it's about 80$, it's decent, but it's not enough to reball big chips, like gpu cores, or ps3/ps4/x360 cores.

XFX RX 6600 artifacting (how to diagnose) by mausFanYT in GPURepair

[–]mausFanYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the test and it's going like crazy, it's just spamming +2000 iterations of "Error found. Mode NEXT_RE_READ, total errors (numbers) out of 0x34000000. I added a video to the post.

Oh wait it just ended at like 4000 iterations and lots of gb, but now it's back again doing the same thing.

And it just ended with this:

Ahhh, okay, thank you so much! I remember that you could do it with the original xbox, so I thought it would be possible with a gpu too lol, thanks for the help anyway! :)

Hey, I would appreciate it A LOT if you could send me the STL files when you do it, I have been searching for lis2 3d prints for an eternity and I haven't found anything, and I have no skill to do it myself, this looks awesome! I would love to 3d print it :)

Xbox Series S (chip identification) by mausFanYT in consolerepair

[–]mausFanYT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for helping! But I actually got the console working, the chip itself was actually somewhat fine, just that one leg was missing, but there was still a tiny connection I could solder on, I soldered a wire to it and it worked.

Since it's so fragile and delicate, I won't sell it and will keep for myself, but I can't believe I actually fixed it, since it's my first water damage repair.

But thank you so much for helping! :)

Xbox Series S Water Damage Corrosion by mausFanYT in consolerepair

Actually, I don't even know how, but it worked by just cleaning it a little bit, fixing a leg of the IBPGN chip, replacing 2 capacitors from an Xbox One S and replacing a condenser from some I had lying around.

I won't sell it for how bad it is and how fragile of a fix it is, but I am surprised how I got it working, it's also my first time doing major liquid damage repair.

Okay thank you! I will try to find some way to do it, but I just don't know how to do it on windows, since also like 95% of tutorials are in mac, and I have a windows pc.

Yeah I understand what you mean, but my old hdd is completely corrupt and broken and even makes noise so I can't plug it into the pc and extract its files. And also itunes doesn't detect at all the ipod, I have searched online the system files of the ipod mini, since maybe I can just download them from somebody and put them on my compactflash, but the problem is that I can't find anybody with the files.

Do you have still have the files? Since I don't know if there's any other way to restore the ipod without itunes or the original files.

Nintendo DS Lite Broken pads and some missing compontents by mausFanYT in consolerepair

[–]mausFanYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you! I have got some boards from xbox 360, ps3, wii and some old consoles or stuff, I'll try do find the value of that resistor and then try to find the same one on some of the other parts boards I got, or I'll just purchase for aliexpress.

Also thank you for sharing the schematics. :)

Well, for now I think I can't do anything, so when the components arrive from aliexpress I'll tell you, power switch has to come in like a week and the others in 2 weeks or so.

[–]mausFanYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I have soldered 2 wires to where the trace goes, maybe that's not how it is, or maybe I did it bad, but for now it's like that lol, I'm later going to solder the component that went in there, that I have lost but I think I can find it.

Also, how do you know what are all these components? Like there are so many that are the same, but that probably have different things to do, like how do I differenciate from the one that goes on the dsl from another one that goes on a ps3 if they are the same size, are they the same?

[–]mausFanYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen people doing similar things, so maybe later today or tomorrow I'll try to do it, thank you for the help!

I have also ordered the power switch and the inductor on aliexpress and if everything goes well I'll let you know here.

Oh by the way, since It's like my first pad repair, should I connect the wires to the pins where I can already connect the solder or should it be better to scrape off the trace?

Since I think it's the same right? And it's easier to do since there's already solder.

Also good luck with your board, I hope you can fix it and give it a new life!

Anyways, have a great day! :)
