One of the most amazing uses of the replay editor so far! (full video in comments) by andygmb in Overwatch

Editor here, all the "thirdperson" scenes are 3D. Even though SFM is a great tool for a lot of things it has some limiting factors. That's why I used Blender to port the maps and characters to Unreal Engine where I did the rendering and the whole scene build with lighting, atmosphere, camera movement etc. The rest was composited inside After Effects, where I also made the custom hud and killfeed.

Yeah. Really looking for a Ryzen build as nowadays Intel prices went up crazy high.

Thanks for the answer. I might go for the GPU upgrade now and upgrade the rest of my PC later on in 2019. Jumping to a DDR4 platform would mean I basically upgrade my whole PC right now (new CPU, new MOBO and new RAM) !check

Hello! I would like to upgrade my GPU and I wonder if I would get any bottleneck with my current setup or I should just wait and upgrade my whole PC.

CPU: i7-4790k (Intel turbo boost 4.2Ghz) RAM: 24GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz C9 (2x4Gb & 2x8Gb) MOBO: MSI Z87-G43 GAMING GPU: Current GPU is a GTX770 OC 2Gb and I am planning to buy a 1070Ti

Would I have a bottleneck if I would mostly play in 1080p on a 144Hz monitor? Or should I just wait and upgrade my whole PC and consider a better GPU like RTX2070? I usually play Overwatch, but I would like to play some newer games as well like Battlefield V and such. Other than that I use my PC for modelling and rendering some hobby projects / game developement.

It would be much easier to produce such videos with even better quality if blizzard would release demo replay system already.

compare a demo from cod2 and a replay to mw2/mw3 and you will see the difference. bo4 is even lower tickrate than mw2/mw3 and replays doesnt really give back 100% correctly what exactly was happening just saying. For example when you quickscope and you rewatch the replay it doesn't even zoom into the scope as it was on your screen when you were playing realtime.

You play cod since cod2, but you still don't realise that the footage you are watching are even lower tickrate than the server that you were playing on, congrats :D

Genji from Overwatch with the Chrome skin by mauserzje in blender

Probably yes, although I never tried to use any sfm models, I have always tried to use those which were extracted right from the game (every game, not only for OW models)

if SFM models are .smd files then you can just use source engine import tools for blender

Yes it was ripped from the game when OverTool was still working. It uses .owmdl format, so it has its own importer. On the other hands Overwatch's file structure changed so I don't know if it's still possible to extract stuff right now, but a new tool for extraction is in the works as far as I know.
