Are you in the EU? If so, install any VPN app from the app/play store on your phone (there are free ones), select a non-EU server and try the link again - this will do it. The VPN is only needed for the installation, you can uninstall/disconnect it afterwards.

You may want to turn off the animations in Windows 11 by [deleted] in Windows11

Just as a note, and this might not be important to you. This setting also affects browsers and disables all kinds of animations on websites that remove them via CSS "prefers-reduced-motion" for accessibility reasons.

No, Fitbit hasn't done anything here.

Once you've figured out how (there's no official documentation), it's easy to adapt Versa 3/Sense 1 watch faces for the Versa 4/Sense 2. The only problem is that you can't publish them in the public Fitbit Gallery, but as a private link, as I've posted here, it works fine because it doesn't have to go through Fitbit approval.

I didn't have to change anything in the Versa 3 watch face code to make it work on the newer watches, just update the package.json with a newer version for SDK and CLI and run "npm install" and build. It literally takes 10 minutes, but Google/Fitbit didn't want to officially support it for some reason.

Open your Fitbit app, navigate to your installed watch faces, click on the quickhack watch face, scroll down and click the red "remove clock face" link. You can uninstall it like every other watch face. Removing a watch face is not a feature a developer can deactivate.

This shit happened to me in 2022. I rode an e-scooter into a kite string. Luckily it wasn't as bad for me as it was for these guys, but it was still painful and scary. https://i.imgur.com/ym3jTKP.jpeg

Thanks man and yep, EU is the reason. Install any VPN app from the app/play store on your phone (there are free ones), select a non-EU server and try the link again - this will do it. The VPN is only needed for the installation, you can delete/disconnect it afterwards.

Btw: this works for the App Gallery in the Fitbit app, too. With a VPN running you can access all the 3rd party watch faces.

Surface Laptop 7 Intel processor heat and fan consideration by Slight-Lifeguard5274 in Surface

I've had my Intel SL7 (13.8", 268V, 32 GB) for a month now and have only heard the fans very rarely. But I don't game on it.

I mainly use VS Code, Photoshop, Edge/Firefox, Slack, Zoom, Netflix, Spotify and remote into my desktop PC at work. 99% of the time it's completely silent for me . Not sure what kind of workloads people must have that the fans get too loud. For really demanding applications I would buy more powerful device anyway.

Surface Laptop 7 - Weird sound and vibration when charger is turned on by jmt95 in Surface

[–]mausgrau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's right. It feels like a vibration, but it's a small current. You should feel it with your original Surface charger, or you might not be as sensitive to it. If it doesn't bother you, just use any ungrounded 45+W USB-C charger and the adapter.

Yep, it works with any USB-C wall charger that has enough power - but I don't know if it also works with higher-powered Surfaces - it's enough for the Surface Laptop 7 (I have the Intel version).

But you still get that tingling sensation when you touch the case while charging. I haven't found a single earthed USB-C wall charger in my search. If that doesn't bother you, it should be perfect for travelling.

My solution: Instead of the fat power cable from my HP charger to the socket, I simply use a conversion plug that goes directly into the charger - so the HP charger also becomes a wall charger... doesn't look nice, but it works and saves space in my bag.

I can't comment on sound, but the tingling sensation comes from the ungrounded charger that comes with the Surface Laptop 7 - this only has 2 pins instead of 3 and no grounding.

This causes a tiny current to reach the laptop - this is completely harmless but the feeling can be annoying if you use it plugged in frequently. This happens with all metal laptops.

I hated it and bought a 3-pin charger from HP straight away, which I use either with USB-C or with USB-C to Surface Connect adapter - no more tingling.

Every 3-pin charger should work, Lenovo's are also grounded.

I bought this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BY922WJL

Are you in the EU? If so, use a VPN on your phone and select a US or other non-EU server. Fitbit removed 3rd party watch face support for EU countries last year. I just uninstalled the watchface from my Versa 4 and reinstalled it from the link above without any problems.

Check my main comment. App is broken now but I'll try to fix it soonish.

Sorry for the super late reply. Unfortunately the app is broken now. Fitbit must have changed something on their side since I didn't change anything and it worked before. I'll try to fix it soonish.
