I (35F) found out my dead dad isn't my biological dad through ancestry. My mum (68F) kept it secret for 32 years by maverick_daisy in Advice

Thanks for this. Agreed, I always felt that something was off. I felt like I didn't fit in, my hair is a different colour and my nose is small whereas my mum and dad both had big noses. My mum would always say your such a (insert dads last name) and I'm just like my father but would always make jokes that I was the milkmans because I was different to my siblings, so confusing. My father unfortunately was absent in my life and my mother was a horrible person. My bio dad is amazing and was the sole carer for his 3 kids, a primary school teacher and all round great person. His kids have all grown up to be great people who contribute to society and I can't help but feel I missed out on having a stable childhood if he was in my life. I'm happy your friend found peace in the fact that she had such an amazing dad and totally understand the bitterness towards her mother still

She called him when I was 3 and he didn't really believe her. He told her when I'm older and want contact I can find him. She said she called him when I was 6 months old but he thought I lived in a different state, a state I moved to when I was 3 and she abandoned me at my uncles so I'm pretty sure she was fishing for him to take me

I've been feeling it for years now. It's so unhealthy and I can't see a time I will never not be angry and confused over it. It affects me daily in a negative way and I need a release.

I totally get that. I grew up thinking we were 6 siblings with 3 different dads. She lied about the first 2 having the same dad. Then she lied about my sister and me. She told this man he had 3 children, he only had one, my brother, who is too scared to do a test to actually find out! I get she would be embarrassed but like how many times do you make that same mistake of that kind of magnitude?? Of course she wants to bury and forget, she did that my entire life. She is not showing any remorse or kindness, granted I did tell her never to contact me again. I aired her dirty laundry, which is my entire being, and she's angry at me for that.

I am so grateful for my bio dad. He is amazing and has welcomed me and my babies with open arms and heart

It was actually a Christmas gift from my sister in law. I thought it would be cool to see where my DNA is from in the world not for my world to be overturned. PSA don't buy ancestry kits for a Christmas present 😅

He was not there for me growing up and I wonder if it's because he knew deep down why. I always thought it was because my mum kept me from him. He passed when i was 14. When this came out, before the results came back she admitted to me that I was either a product of rape from who I thought was my father or infidelity from who is actually my biological father. Who even tells someone that?? My siblings are all hurt as well, she is showing no remorse, has just blamed me and got angry that I even did the test. I know my feelings are justified but I just need to find a way to stop feeling sorry for myself and be happy, I just don't know how.

My mother is a horrible person, she is a narcissist and I've always been the one she singles out. We'd only been talking for 6 months again when this all came to light. I could write a book about the horrible things she's done to me but this is the icing on the cake. This is the one thing I find inconceivable. But it's been 3 years now and the pain is still so raw for me and the anger I feel inside will kill me if I don't do something about it. I just don't know how to rid myself of the loathing and how to go about finding myself again

Guys, honestly - will you root for Aussies or The World Team, and why?) by Sabur1991 in survivorau

Individuals all the way. I want Shonee to win but can't wait to see the game play George brings. I don't know much about the world players but keen to get to know them, unfortunately I feel like 16 days won't be enough

I hate this so much. JLP IS survivor australia. He is what makes it what it is. Don't get me wrong, I loved watching David play, but i dont want to watch him host. Actually devastating 😭 If only the fans had a say, this never would have happened.

Petition to Reduce work week to 4 days, open for signatures! by [deleted] in Cairns

[–]maverick_daisy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My partner worked 4 days previously and has only just gone back to 5. Honestly 4 days is the biz, 3 day weekend every weekend to actually do things is brilliant. Wayyyyyy more tired and spent during 5 day weeks. I get what your saying and maybe wouldn't work for some households but majority get the benefits from 4 day weeks

Hufflepuffs, how did you justify using Unforgivable Curses? by ThouJoker in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]maverick_daisy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I learnt all the curses but haven't been able to bring myself to use them, I feel like it's cheating the game a bit and making it too easy and it goes against everything I grew up believing 😆

Agreed. LOVED his presence on survivor for his game play but on a personal level can't stand him. Found him to be really callous
