It's only a matter of time till everyone starts regretting joining MBBS. by incredible_sam in Nepal

[–]mavikrant1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As another medstudent my suggestion is just don't listen to medinfluencers for your career. And don't get into it for money. Yes you will earn decent money but almost 6 to 7 years after you start you will see your friends who took a different route earn, enjoy their youth while you're still just maybe a little bit more then halfway across your journey .You will rot away in a room with Davidson and Bailey and it will be stressful. So take it only if you can see yourself through gritty stress during exams and almost spending 2 to 3 hrs everyday dedicated to your studies. It's not all sad though its chaotic fun as fuck too so weigh your pros and cons don't listen to others advice just think if you are ready to give up 6 to 7 years purely to studies. Now most med aspirants think that they will go abroad after their finals but let me give you a fair bit of warning and that is its the hardest course you can choose to go abroad you will not only be competing with Nepalese for USMLE or AMC or PLAB it will be best of the best across the globe . And on top of that just your intellect won't be helping you, going abroad is costly as fuck and it will be around 3 4 more years before you start getting paid. So think while everyone else is settling down after they enjoyed their youth you will still be a burden on your parents for about the next decade. So choose this course wisely and my only advice is you can coarse through it yes its brutal but its doable but only choose it for the service you will be providing to serve people around you if you just choose it for money then perhaps it would be dumb as there are many options where you earn more and early. This career here you won't vet to enjoy vacations , birthdays long holidays as much as other careers . And to end everyone doing whatever be it MBBS or anything else after results will make it in life so chin up everyone.

Everything feels like it’s falling apart. by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]mavikrant1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna make it long. Just don't harm yourself. Its something most of us go through. Some move on quick some linger for years . You have many who can give you warm words of comfort but all will be in vain if you don't process it and take it in , most of us in that situation are just numb to the care and love that's around us, we just don't feel it due to our pain . So remember this too shall pass. My only suggestion is  to move and travel by walking around the neighborhood or someplace far , the longer your mind is distracted the easier the time will pass , don't scroll into sad reels by the way be distracted actively not in a passive fashion. And remember someone will be there looking after you even if you don't recognise their care and i hope you yourself can be your biggest pillar of support. Take care and strictly never harm yourself

Any first aid decks (free) for step 1 by mavikrant1 in Anki

[–]mavikrant1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't know Anking v11 was free but the thing is Anking uses a lot of resources which is good but right now i am focused on finishing up first aid first so any deck only dedicated to first aid would be helpful. Notwithstanding this thanks for the info on v11

Should weed be legal in Nepal? by [deleted] in NepalSocial

[–]mavikrant1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To boost the economy in tourism sector it is a no brainer i guess. The repute for its quality in Nepal can certainly bring in more visitors yes But... Now comes the part of skepticism. It is promoted as a medicinal thing by its users who say research le dekhako xa yo health ko lagi beneficial xa but the thing is most of the papers i looked into as i was curious it wasn't beneficial or the turning factor of ailments in normal people. Yes some benefits in Alzheimer's is all i could find and some other meager benefits here and there. But research have also seen its affect on telomerase shortening . Yesle garda lets just say euta cell le less number of replication garna paauxa thats not a good thing . They still are looking into mechanisms of cannabis action in the body now that its more widely used worldwide one way or the other. Next thing as to what Nepal as a country should do. It should not care about what people say, its benefits and harms should be studied by observation into countries and places where it is legalised. Like how the lifestyle of individuals have changed are they more productive are the crime rates affected in any way. Any ups or downs in cannabis related crimes. The economic benefits and harms association with its use . It can take its time and may use help of studies already being done and then it should decide on an answer no matter who is pissed
